2019-03-23ARM: dts: exynos: Do not ignore real-world fuse values for thermal zone 0 on ↵Krzysztof Kozlowski
Exynos5420 commit 28928a3ce142b2e4e5a7a0f067cefb41a3d2c3f9 upstream. In Odroid XU3 Lite board, the temperature levels reported for thermal zone 0 were weird. In warm room: /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp:32000 /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone1/temp:51000 /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone2/temp:55000 /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone3/temp:54000 /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone4/temp:51000 Sometimes after booting the value was even equal to ambient temperature which is highly unlikely to be a real temperature of sensor in SoC. The thermal sensor's calibration (trimming) is based on fused values. In case of the board above, the fused values are: 35, 52, 43, 58 and 43 (corresponding to each TMU device). However driver defined a minimum value for fused data as 40 and for smaller values it was using a hard-coded 55 instead. This lead to mapping data from sensor to wrong temperatures for thermal zone 0. Various vendor 3.10 trees (Hardkernel's based on Samsung LSI, Artik 10) do not impose any limits on fused values. Since we do not have any knowledge about these limits, use 0 as a minimum accepted fused value. This should essentially allow accepting any reasonable fused value thus behaving like vendor driver. The exynos5420-tmu-sensor-conf.dtsi is copied directly from existing exynos4412 with one change - the samsung,tmu_min_efuse_value. 2015-09-29ARM: dts: Fix wrong clock binding for sysmmu_fimd1_1 on exynos5420Joonyoung Shim
The sysmmu_fimd1_1 should bind the clock CLK_SMMU_FIMD1M1, not the clock CLK_SMMU_FIMD1M0. CLK_SMMU_FIMD1M0 is a clock for the sysmmu_fimd1_0. This wrong clock binding causes the problem that is blocked in iommu_map function when IOMMU is enabled and exynos-drm driver tries to allocate buffer via DMA mapping API on Odroid-XU3 board. 2015-07-21ARM: dts: Include exynos5420-pinctrl after the nodes were defined for exynos5420Javier Martinez Canillas
The dtc compiler combines all the defined nodes that have the same path so a device node definition can be in one file and later be extended in another one. That's the case of the Exynos5420 pinctrl device nodes that are defined in the exynos5420.dtsi file and extended in exynos5420-pinctrl.dtsi. But since the exynos5420.dtsi file includes the exynos5420-pinctrl.dtsi before the pinctrl device nodes are actually defined, the definition of the pinctrl device nodes happens in exynos5420-pinctrl.dtsi and are extended in exynos5420.dtsi. That is the opposite of the original intention so even when there is no difference in practice, the exynos5420-pinctrl.dtsi include should be moved at the end of the exynos5420.dtsi file after the pinctrl device nodes have been already defined. This will also allow to later change the exynos5420-pinctrl.dtsi file to use labels instead of full paths to extend the pinctrl nodes. Since keeping the include at the top, would cause a dtc build error due the pinctrl labels not being defined yet. Commit ea08de16eb1b ("ARM: dts: Add DISP1 power domain for exynos5420") added a device node for the Exynos5420 DISP1 power domain but dit not make the DP controller a consumer of that power domain. This causes an "Unhandled fault: imprecise external abort" error if the exynos-dp driver tries to access the DP controller registers and the PD was turned off. 2015-03-18ARM: exynos4/5: convert pmu wakeup to stacked domainsMarc Zyngier
Exynos has been (ab)using the gic_arch_extn to provide wakeup from suspend, and it makes a lot of sense to convert this code to use stacked domains instead. This patch does just this, updating the DT files to actually reflect what the HW provides. BIG FAT WARNING: because the DTs were so far lying by not exposing the fact that the PMU block is actually the first interrupt controller in the chain for RTC, kernels with this patch applied wont have any suspend-resume facility when booted with old DTs, and old kernels with updated DTs may not even boot. Also, I strongly suspect that there is more than two wake-up interrupts on these platforms, but I leave it to the maintainers to fix their mess. Lots of normal staging driver cleanups and fixes all over the place, well over a thousand of them, the shortlog shows all the horrid details. The "contentious" thing here is the movement of the Android binder code out of staging into the "real" part of the kernel. This is code that has been stable for a few years now and is working as-is in the tens of millions of devices with no issues. Yes, the code is horrid, and the userspace api leaves a lot to be desired, but it's not going to change due to legacy issues that we have no control over. Because so many devices and companies rely on this, and the code is stable, might as well promote it out of staging. This was all discussed at the Linux Plumbers conference, and everyone participating agreed that this was the best way forward. There is work happening to replace the binder code with something new that is happening right now, but I don't expect to see the results of that work for another year at the earliest. If that ever happens, and Android switches over to it, I'll gladly remove this version. 2014-11-05ARM: dts: exynos: Add sysreg phandle to ADC nodeNaveen Krishna Chatradhi
Instead of using the ADC_PHY register base address, use sysreg phandle in ADC node to control ADC_PHY configuration register. This patch adds syscon node for Exynos3250, Exynos4x12, Exynos5250, and Exynos5420, Exynos5800. 2014-10-17ARM: dts: Explicitly set dr_mode on exynos Peach boardsSjoerd Simons
In case the optional dr_mode property isn't set in the dwc3 nodes the the controller will go into OTG mode if both USB host and USB gadget functionality are enabled in the kernel configuration. Unfortunately this results in USB not working on exynos5420-peach-pit and exynos5800-peach-pi with such a kernel configuration unless manually change the mode. To resolve that explicitly configure the dual role mode as host. This was caused by commit 5a8da524049c ("ARM: dts: exynos5420: add dsi node"), which conflicted with d51cad7df871 ("ARM: dts: remove display power domain for exynos5420"). The DTS addition should never have been merged through the DRM tree in the first place, and it lacked an ack from the platform maintainer (who would have known that the disp_pd reference got removed). git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc Pull ARM SoC device-tree changes from Olof Johansson: "Unlike the board branch, this keeps having large sets of changes for every release, but that's quite expected and is so far working well. Most of this is plumbing for various device bindings and new platforms, but there's also a bit of cleanup and code removal for things that are moved from platform code to DT contents (some OMAP clock code in particular). There's also a pinctrl driver for tegra here (appropriately acked), that's introduced this way to make it more bisectable. I'm happy to say that there were no conflicts at all with this branch this release, which means that changes are flowing through our tree as expected instead of merged through driver maintainers (or at least not done with conflicts). There are several new boards added, and a couple of SoCs. In no particular order: - Rockchip RK3288 SoC support, including DTS for a dev board that they have seeded with some community developers. - Better support for Hardkernel Exynos4-based ODROID boards. - CCF conversions (and dtsi contents) for several Renesas platforms. - Gumstix Pepper (TI AM335x) board support - TI eval board support for AM437x - Allwinner A23 SoC, very similar to existing ones which mostly has resulted in DT changes for support. 2014-07-16ARM: dts: remove display power domain for exynos5420Rahul Sharma
Display domain is removed due to instability issues. Explaining the problem below: exynos_init_late triggers the pm_genpd_poweroff_unused which powers off the unused power domains. This call hits before the trigger to deferred probes. DRM DP Panel defers the probe due to supply get failure. By the time, deferred probe is scheduled again, Display Power Domain is powered off by pm_genpd_poweroff_unused. FIMD and DP drivers are accessing registers during Probe and Bind callbacks. If display domain is enabled/disabled around register accesses, display domain gets unstable and we are getting Power Domain Disable fail notification. Increasing the Timeout also didn't help.
