2019-06-15ARM: dts: imx51: Specify IMX5_CLK_IPG as "ahb" clock to SDMAAndrey Smirnov
[ Upstream commit 918bbde8085ae147a43dcb491953e0dd8f3e9d6a ] Since 25aaa75df1e6 SDMA driver uses clock rates of "ipg" and "ahb" clock to determine if it needs to configure the IP block as operating at 1:1 or 1:2 clock ratio (ACR bit in SDMAARM_CONFIG). Specifying both clocks as IMX5_CLK_SDMA results in driver incorrectly thinking that ratio is 1:1 which results in broken SDMA funtionality. Fix the code to specify IMX5_CLK_AHB as "ahb" clock for SDMA, to avoid detecting incorrect clock ratio. 2017-01-24ARM: dts: imx: Pass 'chosen' and 'memory' nodesFabio Estevam
Commit 7f107887d199 ("ARM: dts: imx: Remove skeleton.dtsi") causes boot issues when the bootloader does not create a 'chosen' node if such node is not present in the dtb. The reason for the boot failure is well explained by Javier Martinez Canillas: "the decompressor relies on a pre-existing chosen node to be available to insert the command line and merge other ATAGS info." , so pass an empty 'chosen' node to fix the boot problem. This issue has been seen in the kernelci reports with Barebox as bootloader. Also pass the 'memory' node in order to fix boot issues on the SolidRun iMX6 platforms. Pull ARM SoC device tree changes from Arnd Bergmann: "A large part of the arm-soc patches are nowadays DT changes, adding support for new SoCs, boards and devices without changing kernel source. The plan is still to move the devicetree files out of the kernel tree and reduce the amount of churn going on here, but we keep finding reasons to delay doing that. Changes are really all over the place, with little sticking out particularly. We have contributions from a total of 116 people in this branch. Unfortunately, the size of this branch also causes a significant number of conflicts at the moment, typically when subsystem maintainers merge patches that change the driver at the same time as the dts files. In most cases this could be avoided because the dts changes are supposed to be compatible in both ways, and we are asking everyone to send ARM dts changes through our tree only" * tag 'dt-3.15' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc: (541 commits) dts: stmmac: Document the clocks property in the stmmac base document dts: socfpga: Add DTS entry for adding the stmmac glue layer for stmmac. 2014-03-07ARM: dts: imx51: Add IPU ports and endpoints, move imx-drm node to dtsiPhilipp Zabel
This patch connects IPU and and parallel display device tree nodes using the OF graph bindings described in Documentation/devicetree/bindings/media/video-interfaces.txt The IPU ports correspond to the two display interfaces. The order of endpoints in the ports is arbitrary. Since the imx-drm node now only needs to contain links to the display interfaces, it can be moved to the SoC dtsi level. At the board level, only connections between the display interface ports and panels have to be added. 2014-02-09ARM: dts: imx51: make pinctrl nodes board specificShawn Guo
Currently, all pinctrl setting nodes are defined in <soc>.dtsi, so that boards that share the same pinctrl setting do not have to define it time and time again in <board>.dts. However, along with the devices and use cases being added continuously, the pinctrl setting nodes under iomuxc becomes more than expected. This bloats device tree blob for particular board unnecessarily since only a small subset of those pinctrl setting nodes will be used by the board. It impacts not only the DTB file size but also the run-time device tree lookup efficiency. The patch moves all the pinctrl data into individual boards as needed. With the changes, the pinctrl setting nodes becomes local to particular board, and it makes no sense to continue numbering the setting for given peripheral. Thus, all the pinctrl phandler name gets updated to have only peripheral name in there. Signed-off-by: Shawn Guo <shawn.guo@linaro.org>

2013-09-17ARM: imx51.dtsi: fix PATA device clockArnaud Patard (Rtp)
Commit 718a350 (ARM: i.MX51: Add PATA support) adds pata support to the imx51.dtsi file and is using clock 161. The problem is that the right clock is 172, according to commit 5d530bb (ARM: i.MX5: Add PATA and SRTC clocks). Using the clock 172 makes things work again (and kills a nasty system freeze). 2013-04-09pinctrl: imx: move hard-coding data into device treeShawn Guo
Currently, all imx pinctrl drivers maintain a big array of struct imx_pin_reg which hard-codes data like register offset and mux mode setting for each pin function. Every time a new imx SoC support is added, we need to add such a big mount of data. With moving to single kernel build, it's only matter of time to be blamed on memory consuming. With DTC pre-processor support in place, the patch moves all these data into device tree by redefining the PIN_FUNC_ID in imxXX-pinfunc.h and changing the PIN_FUNC_ID parsing code a little bit. The pin id gets re-numbered based on mux register offset, or config register offset if the pin has no mux register, so that kernel can identify the pin id from register offsets provided by device tree. As a bonus point of the change, those arbitrary magic numbers standing for particular PIN_FUNC_ID in device tree sources are now replaced by macros to improve the readability of dts files. 2013-04-09ARM: imx: use #include for all device treesShawn Guo
Replace /include/ (dtc) with #include (C pre-processor) for all imx DT files, so that gcc -E handles the entire include tree, and hence any of those files can #include some other file e.g. for constant definitions. This allows future use of #defines and header files in order to define names for various constants, such as pinctrl settings. Use of those features will increase the readability of the device tree files. Signed-off-by: Shawn Guo <shawn.guo@linaro.org>
