2017-06-07ARM: dts: imx6sx-sdb: Remove OPP overrideLeonard Crestez
[ Upstream commit d8581c7c8be172dac156a19d261f988a72ce596f ] The board file for imx6sx-sdb overrides cpufreq operating points to use higher voltages. This is done because the board has a shared rail for VDD_ARM_IN and VDD_SOC_IN and when using LDO bypass the shared voltage needs to be a value suitable for both ARM and SOC. This only applies to LDO bypass mode, a feature not present in upstream. When LDOs are enabled the effect is to use higher voltages than necessary for no good reason. Setting these higher voltages can make some boards fail to boot with ugly semi-random crashes reminiscent of memory corruption. These failures only happen on board rev. C, rev. B is reported to still work. 2017-06-07ARM: dts: imx6sx-sdb: Add 198MHz operational pointFabio Estevam
[ Upstream commit 1dd58e12dfd037edfa75825bb719031dec822a73 ] imx6sx-sdb has custom operating points entries because it has one power supply that drives both VDDARM_IN and VDDSOC_IN. As per the MX6UL datasheet we have the following minimum voltages for 198 MHz operation (after adding the 25mV margin value): VDDARM_IN = 0.975 V VDDSOC_IN = 1.175 V So use 1.175V for the 198MHz operation. 2016-01-14MLK-10089 arm: imx: Add 198MHz OPP for i.MX6SXBai Ping
Update the i.MX6SX operating points to comply with the latest datasheet. Latest i.MX6SX datasheet of Rev.F, 1/2015 adds the 198MHz setpoint. For the RevB board, the VDD_ARM and ADD_SOC are connected together, so the voltage for 198MHz needs to be set to 1.175V. for the general setting, add a 25mV margin to cover the board IR drop. 2015-03-30ARM: imx6sx-sdb: add revb board and make it defaultPeter Chen
Since imx6sx-sdb reva board is experimental and will not be used formally (eg, no software release based on it), we set revb board as the formal imx6sx-sdb board. The imx6sx-sdb uses pfuse200 as pmic which has only one power supply for both VDDARM_IN and VDDSOC_IN, so VDDARM_IN and VDDSOC_IN have to use the same (higher one in the same frequency) one as its power supply, that's the reason we override the OPP setting in board dts file. 2015-03-30ARM: imx6sx-sdb: change default board as reva boardPeter Chen
The imx6sx sdb board has two revisions, the current mainline one is reva which is experimental and mainly for internal use. In this commit, we rename imx6sx-sdb.dts to imx6sx-sdb.dtsi, and move the reva dedicated contents to imx6sx-sdb-reva.dts. Some of the new platforms are: - Alphascale ASM9260 - Marvell Armada 388 - CSR Atlas7 - TI Davinci DM816x - Hisilicon HiP01 - ST STiH418 There have also been some sweeping changes, including relicensing of DTS contents from GPL to GPLv2+/X11 so that the same files can be reused in other non-GPL projects more easily. 2015-01-24ARM: dts: imx6sx: correct i.MX6sx sdb board enet phy addressNimrod Andy
The commit (3d125f9c91c5) cause i.MX6SX sdb enet cannot work. The cause is the commit add mdio node with un-correct phy address. The patch just correct i.MX6sx sdb board enet phy address. 2015-01-14net: fec: fix MDIO bus assignement for dual fec SoC'sStefan Agner
On i.MX28, the MDIO bus is shared between the two FEC instances. The driver makes sure that the second FEC uses the MDIO bus of the first FEC. This is done conditionally if FEC_QUIRK_ENET_MAC is set. However, in newer designs, such as Vybrid or i.MX6SX, each FEC MAC has its own MDIO bus. Simply removing the quirk FEC_QUIRK_ENET_MAC is not an option since other logic, triggered by this quirk, is still needed. Furthermore, there are board designs which use the same MDIO bus for both PHY's even though the second bus would be available on the SoC side. Such layout are popular since it saves pins on SoC side. Due to the above quirk, those boards currently do work fine. The boards in the mainline tree with such a layout are: - Freescale Vybrid Tower with TWR-SER2 (vf610-twr.dts) - Freescale i.MX6 SoloX SDB Board (imx6sx-sdb.dts) This patch adds a new quirk FEC_QUIRK_SINGLE_MDIO for i.MX28, which makes sure that the MDIO bus of the first FEC is used in any case. However, the boards above do have a SoC with a MDIO bus for each FEC instance. But the PHY's are not connected in a 1:1 configuration. A proper device tree description is needed to allow the driver to figure out where to find its PHY. This patch fixes that shortcoming by adding a MDIO bus child node to the first FEC instance, along with the two PHY's on that bus, and making use of the phy-handle property to add a reference to the PHY's.
