2011-08-30powerpc/85xx: enable the audio drivers in the defconfigsTimur Tabi
Enable the audio drivers in the non-corenet 85xx defconfigs so that audio is enabled on the Freescale P1022DS reference board. Signed-off-by: Timur Tabi <timur@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
2011-06-27powerpc/85xx: enable the framebuffer console for the defconfigsTimur Tabi
Enable framebuffer console support by default in the defconfigs for the Freescale 85xx-based reference board. This allows the boot messages to be shown on the video display on the P1022DS. Signed-off-by: Timur Tabi <timur@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
2011-06-22powerpc/85xx: Add basic P1023RDS board supportRoy Zang
The P1023 processor is an e500v2 based SoC that utilizes the DPAA networking architecture. This adds basic board support for non-DPAA functionality (device tree, board file, etc). 2011-05-19powerpc/fsl: enable verbose bug outputScott Wood
This debug option has no overhead other than a slight increase in kernel size, and makes bug reports more useful. While some end users may prefer to save the space, as a default on a kernel config aimed primarily at development on reference boards, it should be enabled. 2011-03-30powerpc: Restore some misc devices to our configsStephen Rothwell
Uwe Kleine-König reported: while working on an defconfig (arm/mx27) I noticed that just updating it[1] results in removing CONFIG_EEPROM_AT24=y. The reason is that since commit v2.6.36-5965-g5f2365d (misc devices: do not enable by default) MISC_DEVICES isn't enabled anymore by default. So all defconfigs that have CONFIG_SOME_SYMBOL=y (or =m) (with SOME_SYMBOL depending on MISC_DEVICES) but not CONFIG_MISC_DEVICES=y suffer from the same problem. This restores those misc devices to the powerpc defconfigs. 2011-01-20kconfig: rename CONFIG_EMBEDDED to CONFIG_EXPERTDavid Rientjes
The meaning of CONFIG_EMBEDDED has long since been obsoleted; the option is used to configure any non-standard kernel with a much larger scope than only small devices. This patch renames the option to CONFIG_EXPERT in init/Kconfig and fixes references to the option throughout the kernel. A new CONFIG_EMBEDDED option is added that automatically selects CONFIG_EXPERT when enabled and can be used in the future to isolate options that should only be considered for embedded systems (RISC architectures, SLOB, etc). Calling the option "EXPERT" more accurately represents its intention: only expert users who understand the impact of the configuration changes they are making should enable it. 2010-10-14powerpc/85xx: add DIU support to the Freecale P1022DS reference boardTimur Tabi
The Freescale P1022DS has an on-chip video controller called the DIU, and a driver for this device already exists. Update the platform file for the P1022DS reference board to enable the driver, and update the defconfig for Freescale MPC85xx boards to add the driver. 2010-08-04powerpc/85xx: Introduce support for the Freescale P1022DS reference boardTimur Tabi
Introduce basic support for the Freescale P1022DS reference board, based on the Freescale BSP for this board. This patch excludes the DIU, SSI, and MMC/SD drivers. Only a 36-bit DTS is provided. Update mpc86xx_smp_defconfig and mpc85xx_defconfig to support the P1022DS. This means enabling 64-bit physical address support, increasing the maximum zone order to 12 (to allow the DIU driver to allocate large chunks), and clean up the audio options to disable the deprecated OSS support. 2010-04-19powerpc/mpc8xxx defconfigs - turn off SYSFS_DEPRECATEDKim Phillips
a recent fc11 udev update on an 83xx board made root console login disappear: Updating : udev-141-8.fc11.ppc 32/83 udev: starting version 141 udev: deprecated sysfs layout; update the kernel or disable CONFIG_SYSFS_DEPRECATED; some udev features will not work correctly and sure enough, turning off SYSFS_DEPRECATED brings the login prompt back. 2009-04-21powerpc/85xx: Added SMP defconfigKumar Gala
Since the vast majority of 85xx platforms are UP we introduce a new SMP config for the few platforms that have more than one core. Beyond CONFIG_SMP=y and its dependencies this should be identical to mpc85xx_defconfig. Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
