2015-08-07powerpc/mm: Don't call __flush_dcache_icache_phys() with PA>VAScott Wood
__flush_dcache_icache_phys() requires the ability to access the memory with the MMU disabled, which means that on a 32-bit system any memory above 4 GiB is inaccessible. In particular, mpc86xx is 32-bit and can have more than 4 GiB of RAM. Signed-off-by: Scott Wood <scottwood@freescale.com>
2015-02-05mm/debug_pagealloc: fix build failure on ppc and some other archsJoonsoo Kim
Kim Phillips reported following build failure. LD init/built-in.o mm/built-in.o: In function `free_pages_prepare': mm/page_alloc.c:770: undefined reference to `.kernel_map_pages' mm/built-in.o: In function `prep_new_page': mm/page_alloc.c:933: undefined reference to `.kernel_map_pages' mm/built-in.o: In function `map_pages': mm/compaction.c:61: undefined reference to `.kernel_map_pages' make: *** [vmlinux] Error 1 Reason for this problem is that commit 031bc5743f15 ("mm/debug-pagealloc: make debug-pagealloc boottime configurable") forgot to remove the old declaration of kernel_map_pages() for some architectures. This patch removes them to fix build failure. 2013-08-14powerpc: Remove the symbol __flush_icache_rangeKevin Hao
And now the function flush_icache_range() is just a wrapper which only invoke the function __flush_icache_range() directly. So we don't have reason to keep it anymore. Signed-off-by: Kevin Hao <haokexin@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org>
2013-08-14powerpc: Move the testing of CPU_FTR_COHERENT_ICACHE into __flush_icache_rangeKevin Hao
In function flush_icache_range(), we use cpu_has_feature() to test the feature bit of CPU_FTR_COHERENT_ICACHE. But this seems not optimal for two reasons: a) For ppc32, the function __flush_icache_range() already do this check with the macro END_FTR_SECTION_IFSET. b) Compare with the cpu_has_feature(), the method of using macro END_FTR_SECTION_IFSET will not introduce any runtime overhead. 2012-09-12powerpc/85xx: add HOTPLUG_CPU supportZhao Chenhui
Add support to disable and re-enable individual cores at runtime on MPC85xx/QorIQ SMP machines. Currently support e500v1/e500v2 core. MPC85xx machines use ePAPR spin-table in boot page for CPU kick-off. This patch uses the boot page from bootloader to boot core at runtime. It supports 32-bit and 36-bit physical address. 2009-11-26block: add helpers to run flush_dcache_page() against a bio and a request's ↵Ilya Loginov
pages Mtdblock driver doesn't call flush_dcache_page for pages in request. So, this causes problems on architectures where the icache doesn't fill from the dcache or with dcache aliases. The patch fixes this. The ARCH_IMPLEMENTS_FLUSH_DCACHE_PAGE symbol was introduced to avoid pointless empty cache-thrashing loops on architectures for which flush_dcache_page() is a no-op. Every architecture was provided with this flush pages on architectires where ARCH_IMPLEMENTS_FLUSH_DCACHE_PAGE is equal 1 or do nothing otherwise. See "fix mtd_blkdevs problem with caches on some architectures" discussion on LKML for more information. 2008-08-04powerpc: Move include files to arch/powerpc/include/asmStephen Rothwell
from include/asm-powerpc. This is the result of a mkdir arch/powerpc/include/asm git mv include/asm-powerpc/* arch/powerpc/include/asm Followed by a few documentation/comment fixups and a couple of places where <asm-powepc/...> was being used explicitly. Of the latter only one was outside the arch code and it is a driver only built for powerpc. Signed-off-by: Stephen Rothwell <sfr@canb.auug.org.au> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
