2016-07-21powerpc: Move 32-bit probe() machine to later in the boot processBenjamin Herrenschmidt
This converts all the 32-bit platforms to use the expanded device-tree which is a pretty mechanical change. Unlike 64-bit, the 32-bit kernel didn't rely on platform initializations to setup the MMU since it sets it up entirely before probe_machine() so the move has comparatively less consequences though it's a bigger patch. of_device_ids (i.e. compatible strings and the respective data) are not supposed to change at runtime. All functions working with of_device_ids provided by <linux/of.h> work with const of_device_ids. This allows to mark all struct of_device_id const, too. While touching these line also put the __init annotation at the right position where necessary. Function fsl_pcibios_fixup_bus() is available only if PCI is enabled. The MPC8610 HPCD platform file was not protecting the assigned with an #ifdef, which results in a link failure when PCI is disabled. Every other platform already has this #ifdef. 2012-09-12powerpc/fsl-pci: Unify pci/pcie initialization codeJia Hongtao
We unified the Freescale pci/pcie initialization by changing the fsl_pci to a platform driver. In previous PCI code architecture the initialization routine is called at board_setup_arch stage. Now the initialization is done in probe function which is architectural better. Also It's convenient for adding PM support for PCI controller in later patch. Now we registered pci controllers as platform devices. So we combine two initialization code as one platform driver. Remove the check for CONFIG_PPC_85xx and CONFIG_PPC_86xx from fsl_guts.h. The check was originally intended to allow the same header file to be used on 85xx and 86xx systems, even though the Global Utilities register could be different. It turns out that they're not actually different, and so the check is not necessary. In addition, neither macro is defined for 64-bit e5500 kernels, so that causes a build break. Instead of using ill-defined numbers (0, 1, and 2) for the monitor port, allow the user to specify the port by name ("dvi", "lvds", or "dlvds"). This works on the kernel command line, the module command-line, and the sysfs "monitor" device. Note that changing the monitor port does not currently work on the P1022DS, because the code that talks to the PIXIS FPGA is broken. 2011-06-27powerpc/86xx: improve calculation of DIU pixel clock on the MPC8610 HPCDTimur Tabi
mpc8610hpcd_set_pixel_clock() calculates the correct value of the PXCLK bits in the CLKDVDR register for a given pixel clock rate. The code which performs this calculation is overly complicated and includes an error estimation routine that doesn't work most of the time anyway. 2011-05-19powerpc/86xx: don't pretend that we support 8-bit pixels on the MPC8610 HPCDTimur Tabi
If the video mode is set to 16-, 24-, or 32-bit pixels, then the pixel data contains actual levels of red, blue, and green. However, if the video mode is set to 8-bit pixels, then the 8-bit value represents an index into color table. This is called "palette mode" on the Freescale DIU video controller. The DIU driver does not currently support palette mode, but the MPC8610 HPCD board file returned a non-zero (although incorrect) pixel format value for 8-bit mode. A future version of the MPC8610 HPCD's ASoC DMA driver will probe on individual DMA channel nodes, so the DMA controller nodes' compatible string must be listed in mpc8610_ids[] for the probe to work. Also remove the "gianfar" compatible from mpc8610_ids[], since there is no gianfar (or any other networking device) on the 8610. 2009-11-11powerpc/86xx: Add power management support for MPC8610HPCD boardsAnton Vorontsov
This patch adds needed nodes and properties to support suspend/resume on the MPC8610HPCD boards. There is a dedicated switch (SW9) that is used to wake up the boards. By default the SW9 button is routed to IRQ8, but could be re-routed (via PIXIS) to sreset. With 'no_console_suspend' kernel command line argument specified, the board is also able to wakeup upon serial port input. 2009-03-24powerpc/86xx: Move gianfar mdio nodes under the ethernet nodesAnton Vorontsov
Currently it doesn't matter where the mdio nodes are placed, but with power management support (i.e. when sleep = <> properties will take effect), mdio nodes placement will become important: mdio controller is a part of the ethernet block, so the mdio nodes should be placed correctly. Otherwise we may wrongly assume that MDIO controllers are available during sleep. - Get rid of uses_fsl_uli_m1575, it does not scale for all cases. Instead, let's explicitly use machine_is() for each fixup. - Factor out MPC8610HPCD quirks to fsl_uli1575, and protect them with machine_is(). One step closer to multiplatform kernels. - Actually use fsl_uli1575 on MPC8610HPCD, so RTC quirk will be applied. - RTC quirk applies to all boards though, so no machine_is() checks.
