Add support for the 'full-ts' hardware modification. On full-featured cards the data throughput is limited by the hardware design. The full-ts mod removes this bottleneck, i.e. the card is able to deliver the complete transport stream of a transponder. 2008-04-24V4L/DVB (7538): Adds selectable adapter numbers as per module optionJanne Grunau
The adapter_nr module options can be used to allocate static adapter numbers on a driver level. It avoids problems with changing DVB apapter numbers after warm/cold boot or device unplugging and repluging. Each driver holds DVB_MAX_ADAPTER long array of the preferred order of adapter numbers. options dvb-usb-dib0700 adapter_nr=7,6,5,4,3,2,1,0 would result in a reversed allocation of adapter numbers. With adapter_nr=2,5 it tries first to get adapter number 2 and 5. If both are already in use it will allocate the lowest free adapter number. 2007-05-09V4L/DVB (5592): DMA: Correctly free resources on error, sync PCI streamed dataJon Burgess
I added saa7146_vmalloc_destroy_pgtable() which frees the resources allocated by saa7146_vmalloc_build_pgtable() and updated the callers in budget-core.c and av7110.c. I have also been through the updated functions and updated the error paths to ensure they free all allocated resources on error. I also realised that there are other callers to saa7146_pgtable_free() which did not have any sg DMA mapped so it seems wrong to add the pci_unmap_sg() into that function. Instead I created saa7146_vmalloc_destroy_pgtable() to do this. Also included in this patch are the previous fixes for pci_unmap_sg() and syncing the PCI streamed data to work with a SWIOTLB and match the requirements documented in DMA-API.txt. Infrared remote control support rewritten. Now each device provides its own event device, keymap, protocol, inversion and address setting. EVIOCGKEYCODE and EVIOCSKEYCODE ioctls are supported to read/modify a keymap. Keymaps may be loaded using - input tools (keyb etc.) - av7110_loadkeys (obsolete, for backward compatibility) New command line parameters: - ir_protocol: select infrared protocol: 0 RC5, 1 RCMM (default) - ir_inversion: signal inversion: 0 not inverted (default), 1 inverted - ir_device_mask: bitmask of infrared devices (default: accept all) Those parameters may be set anytime. dvb kernel_thread to kthread API port. It is running fine here, including module load/unload and software suspend (which doesn't work as expected with or without this patch :). I didn't convert the dvb_ca_en50221 as I do not have such an interface, but if the conversion process is fine with the v4l-dvb maintainers, it should not be a problem to send a patch for that too ... pointer field inside dvb_frontend The dvb_frontend_ops is a pointer inside dvb_frontend. That's why every demod-driver is having a field of dvb_frontend_ops in its private-state-struct and using the reference for filling the pointer-field in dvb_frontend. - It saves at least two lines of code per demod-driver, - reduces object size (one less dereference per frontend_ops-access), - be coherent with dvb_tuner_ops, - makes it a little bit easier for newbies to understand how it works and - avoids stupid mistakes because you would have to copy the dvb_frontend_ops always, before you could assign the static pointer directly, which was dangerous. Currently in /sys/class/dvb/dvbX.demuxY/ we have: dev uevent With the patch, we have (for a PCI DVB device): dev device -> ../../../devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1e.0/0000:03:0d.0 uevent So userspace tools can (finally) work out which physical device a DVB adapter refers to. Previously you had to kinda look through dmesg and hope that it hadn't been dumped out of the buffer. This makes debugging a lot easier if the system has been up for a long time! This is done by adding an extra 'struct device *' parameter to dvb_register_adapter(). It will work with any kind of standard linux 'device'. Additionally, if someone has an embedded system which does things differently, they can simply supply 'NULL' and the behaviour will be as before - the link will simply not appear. This attached patch was originally proposed by Anssi Hannula to the dvb-kernel user to choose the default broadcast mode when using the ttpci driver. NTSC users need to only add the following line to modprobe.d: options dvb-ttpci tv_standard=1 PAL users will not need to change anything, for this will be the default. Add wss_cfg_4_3 and wss_cfg_16_9 configuration options. Firmware 2623 or later required. Both parameters are bit masks: - bit 15: disable WSS - bit 14: send short WSS burst, then turn off WSS - bit 13..0: WSS bits as specified by the standard These parameters are useful if you own a broken tv set which does not handle wss correctly. Default settings: - wss_cfg_4_3: 0x4008 - wss_cfg_16_9: 0x0007 These should work with most devices.
