2011-05-20[media] cx18: Make RF analog TV work for newer HVR-1600 models with silicon ↵Andy Walls
tuners A previous changes which added the newer model HVR-1600's and DTV support for them, neglected to add RF analog TV for them. Fix RF analog TV for the newer HVR-1600's which have a worldwide analog tuner assembly with a TDA18271 tuner and TDA8295 demodulator. Thanks go to Jeff Campbell and Mike Bradley for reproting the problem, and also to Mike Bradley for doing a lot of the legwork to figure out the tuner reset GPIO line, the demodulator I2C address, and that the GPIOs have to be reinitialized after a cardtype switch. 2010-12-30[media] v4l: fix handling of v4l2_input.capabilitiesHans Verkuil
The v4l core sets the v4l2_input.capabilities field based on the supplied v4l2_ioctl_ops. However, several drivers do a memset or memcpy of the v4l2_input struct, thus overwriting that field incorrectly. Either remove the memset (which is already done by the v4l core), or add the proper capabilities field in case of a memcpy. 2010-12-29[media] Patch for cx18 module with added support of GoTView PCI DVD3 Hybrid ↵Alexey Chernov
tuner I've got code which adds support of GoTView PCI DVD3 Hybrid tuner in cx18 module and Andy Walls in ivtv mailing-list gave me some advice on making a patch and sending it here. So here's the patch against staging/2.6.37-rc1 branch (the tutorial recommends to include it as plain text but if it's the case I can surely send as an attachment): Several comments on the patch: 1. Both users on the official Gotview forum and support said that PCI DVD3 is very similar to Yuan MPC718 card so the main part of code is taken from Yuan configuration. Some users reported it to work properly. 2. Everything is being initialized correctly including analog, dvb, radio and alsa parts. Analogue part and alsa virtual card is tested by myself using original Gotview card. Fix the "xceive_pin" setting from "15" to "1" for the PVR2100 -- the same as the PVR3100H. This properly resets the XC2028 tuner on the PVR2100. Sergey's original email report: Hi. MT352 or ZL10353 Add DVB-T support for Yuan MPC-718 cards with an MT352 or ZL10353 demodulator. There are apparently some units with a DiBcom demodulator which could be supported by one of the dib7000 modules - but this is not implemented in the cx18 driver (yet). Due to lack of porgramming details for the MT352 and the mt352 module requiring a "demod_init" function, a "firmware" must be obtained and loaded to get DVB-T working for Yuan MPC-718 cards with an MT352. 2009-06-16V4L/DVB (11951): cx18: Add DVB-T support for the Leadtek WinFast DVR3100 HAndy Walls
This adds support for DVB-T on the Leadtek DVR3100 H and should also get analog TV capture from the tuner working properly as well. DVB-T 6 MHz and 8 MHz have been tested and verified to work by Terry Wu of Leadtek. DVB-T 7 MHz has also been verified working with a change developed by Terry to the tuner-xc2028.c driver. v4l2_subdevices Convert GPIO line functions, such a audio routing and device resets, to v4l2_subdevices. This essentially completes the conversion of cx18 to the v4l2_device/v4l2_subdevice framework. No regression testing has taken place as of yet. Also an ivtv legacy bug with GPIO mux routing and going to/from radio mode was commented, but not fixed. One user, Michael <msd4824@yahoo.com>, has reported this allows his HVR-1600 EEPROM to be consistently recognized when using (long,) 100 msec delays. The delays in this commit are nominal (10 & 40 msec) and need testing/tuning on boards with I2C problems to find the right values. Verified by physical inspection of an HVR-1600MCE, by listening to FM broadcasts with the HVR-1600MCE, and by comparing with the card definition for a PVR-150 in ivtv.
