2010-12-29[media] rc: rename the remaining things to rc_coreMauro Carvalho Chehab
The Remote Controller subsystem is meant to be used not only by Infra Red but also for similar types of Remote Controllers. The core is not specific to Infra Red. As such, rename: - ir-core.h to rc-core.h - IR_CORE to RC_CORE - namespace inside rc-core.c/rc-core.h To be consistent with the other changes. No functional change on this patch. 2010-12-29[media] ir-core: more cleanups of ir-functions.cDavid Härdeman
cx88 only depends on VIDEO_IR because it needs ir_extract_bits(). Move that function to ir-core.h and make it inline. Lots of drivers had dependencies on VIDEO_IR when they really wanted IR_CORE. The only remaining drivers to depend on VIDEO_IR are bt8xx and saa7134 (ir_rc5_timer_end is the only function exported by ir-functions). Rename VIDEO_IR -> IR_LEGACY to give a hint to anyone writing or converting drivers to IR_CORE that they do not want a dependency on IR_LEGACY. 2008-11-11V4L/DVB (9485): ivtv: remove incorrect V4L1 & tvaudio dependencyHans Verkuil
ivtv used tvaudio in the past and at the time tvaudio required V4L1. Since tvaudio is no longer dependent on V4L1 and since ivtv actually no longer uses tvaudio at all, this is no removed from Kconfig. Without this patch ivtv won't be build if V4L1 is disabled. 2008-05-14V4L/DVB (7851): Fix FW_LOADER depencency at v4l/dvbMauro Carvalho Chehab
Since: 1) FW_LOADER is defined as: config FW_LOADER tristate "Userspace firmware loading support" depends on HOTPLUG 2) several V4L/DVB driver just selects it; 3) select is not smart enough to auto-select HOTPLUG, if select FW_LOADER. So, All drivers that select FW_LOADER should also depend on HOTPLUG. An easier solution (for the end-user perspective) would be to "select HOTPLUG". However, live is not simple. 2008-04-24V4L/DVB (7535): saa717x: add new audio/video decoder i2c driverHans Verkuil
Added the last remaining out-of-tree kernel driver from the ivtv project. The saa717x is used in several Japanese cards and a Russian card. The driver is not complete in that only NTSC is supported and no PAL/SECAM. Hopefully this will be added in the future. The convention for framebuffer devices is to call them xxxfb, not xxx-fb. Conform to this. Also move the ivtvfb.h header to include/linux: it is a public header. The FBIO_WAITFORVSYNC ioctl is now also defined in the ivtvfb.h header, no more need to include matroxfb.h for just this ioctl. Add the ivtv-fb framebuffer driver for cx23415 devices (currently only the Hauppauge PVR-350 cards). This makes it possible to use the On-Screen Display functionality of these cards, either for menus during MPEG playback, or as a console or X display. 2007-04-27V4L/DVB (5345): ivtv driver for Conexant cx23416/cx23415 MPEG encoder/decoderHans Verkuil
It took three core maintainers, over four years of work, eight new i2c modules, eleven new V4L2 ioctls, three new DVB video ioctls, a Sliced VBI API, a new MPEG encoder API, an enhanced DVB video MPEG decoding API, major YUV/OSD contributions from Ian and John, web/wiki/svn/trac support from Axel Thimm, (hardware) support from Hauppauge, support and assistance from the v4l-dvb people and the many, many users of ivtv to finally make it possible to merge this driver into the kernel.
