2011-06-25ixgbe: A fix to VF TX rate limitLior Levy
There is a need to configure MMW_SIZE in register RTTBCNRM with a correct value (0x4 for non jumbo frames and 0x14 for jumbo frames support). For 82599 the value is 0x4 and for X540 the value is 0x14. Signed-off-by: Lior Levy <lior.levy@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Jeff Kirsher <jeffrey.t.kirsher@intel.com>

2011-03-12ixgbe: add support for VF Transmit rate limit using iproute2Lior Levy
Implemented ixgbe_ndo_set_vf_bw function which is being used by iproute2 tool. In addition, updated ixgbe_ndo_get_vf_config function to show the actual rate limit to the user. The rate limitation can be configured only when the link is up and the link speed is 10Gb. The rate limit value can be 0 or ranged between 11 and actual link speed measured in Mbps. A value of '0' disables the rate limit for this specific VF. iproute2 usage will be 'ip link set ethX vf Y rate Z'. After the command is made, the rate will be changed instantly. To view the current rate limit, use 'ip link show ethX'. The rates will be zeroed only upon driver reload or a link speed change. This feature is being supported by 82599 and X540 devices. 2011-02-24ixgbe: Enable Jumbo Frames on the X540 10Gigabit ControllerGreg Rose
The X540 controller supports jumbo frames in SR-IOV mode. Allow configuration of jumbo frames either in the PF driver or on behalf of a VF. Signed-off-by: Greg Rose <gregory.v.rose@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Jeff Kirsher <jeffrey.t.kirsher@intel.com>
2011-02-08ixgbe: limit VF access to network trafficAlexander Duyck
This change fixes VM pool allocation issues based on MAC address filtering, as well as limits the scope of VF access to promiscuous mode. 2010-12-24ixgbe: Add anti-spoofing feature supportGreg Rose
Add support for the anti-spoofing feature in the HW. Packets from VF devices with spoofed MAC addresses or VLAN tags will be blocked and a counter incremented. During the watchdog timer the spoofed packet dropped counter is read and if it is non-zero then a warning message is displayed on the host VMM's console. 2010-12-24ixgbe: Warn on VF attempt to override Administratively set MAC/VLANGreg Rose
Print warnings to the system log when the VF attempts to override MAC/VLAN settings that were configured by the VMM Host administrator using the ip link set commands. Signed-off-by: Greg Rose <gregory.v.rose@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Jeff Kirsher <jeffrey.t.kirsher@intel.com>
2010-11-16ixgbe: move adapter into pci_dev driver data instead of netdevAlexander Duyck
This change moves an adapter pointer into the private portion of the pci_dev instead of a pointer to the netdev. The reason for this change is because in most cases we just want the adapter anyway. In addition as we start moving toward multiple netdevs per port we may want to move the adapter pointer out of the netdevs entirely. 2010-07-05ixgbe: use netif_<level> instead of netdev_<level>Emil Tantilov
This patch restores the ability to set msglvl through ethtool. The issue was introduced by: commit 849c45423c0c108e08d67644728cc9b0ed225fa1 CC: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Reported-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Signed-off-by: Emil Tantilov <emil.s.tantilov@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Jeff Kirsher <jeffrey.t.kirsher@intel.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2010-06-15ixgbe: update set_rx_mode to fix issues w/ macvlanAlexander Duyck
This change corrects issues where macvlan was not correctly triggering promiscuous mode on ixgbe due to the filters not being correctly set. It also corrects the fact that VF rar filters were being overwritten when the PF was reset. 2010-06-03ixgbe: Use netdev_<level>, dev_<level>, pr_<level>Emil Tantilov
This patch is alternative to a previous patch submitted by Joe Perches. Create common macros e_<level> and e_dev_<level> that use netdev_<level> and dev_<level> similar to e1000e. Redefined pr_fmt for driver messages. Use %pM to display MAC address. Aligned text to better match the new format. 2010-05-06ixgbe: Streamline MC filter setup for VFsGreg Rose
The driver was calling the set Rx mode function for every multicast filter set by the VF. When starting many VMs where each might have multiple VLAN interfaces this would result in the function being called hundreds or even thousands of times. This is unnecessary for the case of the imperfect filters used in the MTA and has been streamlined to be more efficient. 2010-05-06ixgbe: Remove unneeded register writes in VF VLAN setupGreg Rose

2010-05-05ixgbe: Add boolean parameter to ixgbe_set_vmolrGreg Rose
Add a boolean parameter to ixgbe-set_vmolr so that the caller can specify whether the pool should accept untagged packets. Required for a follow on patch to enable administrative configuration of port VLAN for virtual functions. 2010-01-23ixgbe: Improve reset coordination between the PF and the VFGreg Rose
Inadequate coordination between the PF driver and the VF driver results in tx hangs in the VF driver when you perform certain actions that will lead to a re-init of the PF. Add feature to notify active VFs when the PF is about to re-initialize so that the VFs can take appropriate action.
