2012-07-20s390/comments: unify copyright messages and remove file namesHeiko Carstens
Remove the file name from the comment at top of many files. In most cases the file name was wrong anyway, so it's rather pointless. Also unify the IBM copyright statement. We did have a lot of sightly different statements and wanted to change them one after another whenever a file gets touched. However that never happened. Instead people start to take the old/"wrong" statements to use as a template for new files. So unify all of them in one go. Signed-off-by: Heiko Carstens <heiko.carstens@de.ibm.com>

2012-05-16qeth: remove token ring part 2Frank Blaschka
Commit 1abd2296b4a1ee7b6a883541c3ede52042a09521 starts removing token ring from qeth_l3. This patch removes the rest of token ring related code from the driver. Signed-off-by: Frank Blaschka <frank.blaschka@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-05-16s390/qeth: stop using struct ccwgroup driver for discipline callbacksSebastian Ott
The interface between qeth and its disciplines should not depend on struct ccwgroup_driver, as a qeth discipline is not a ccwgroup driver on its own. Instead provide the particular callbacks in struct qeth_discipline. 2012-02-08qeth: add query OSA address table supportFrank Blaschka
Add qeth device private ioctl to query the OSA address table. This helps debugging hw related problems. Signed-off-by: Frank Blaschka <frank.blaschka@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2011-11-16qeth: Reduce CPU consumption through less SIGA-r callsEinar Lueck
Patch avoids SIGA-r calls in case of SIGA-r required. It only calls SIGA-r if a threshold of free buffer is reached. CPU consumption is reduced as a consequence. 2011-08-13qeth: add support for af_iucv HiperSockets transportFrank Blaschka
This patch extends the HiperSockets device driver to send and receive af_iucv traffic over HiperSockets transport. TX: Driver uses new asynchronous delivery of storage blocks to pass flow control/congestion information from the HiperSockets microcode to the af_iucv socket. RX: Memory for incoming traffic is preallocated and passed to HiperSockets layer. If receiver is not capable to clean its buffers shared with HiperSockets and pass new memory to the HiperSockets layer this will cause flow control/congestion events on the sender. 2011-08-13qeth: exploit asynchronous delivery of storage blocksEinar Lueck
This patch exploits the QDIO support for asynchronous delivery of storage blocks for Hipersockets. The exploitation is not configured per default and may be enabled via the function qeth_configure_cq. 2011-06-06[S390] qdio: Split SBAL entry flagsJan Glauber
The qdio SBAL entry flag is made-up of four different values that are independent of one another. Some of the bits are reserved by the hardware and should not be changed by qdio. Currently all four values are overwritten since the SBAL entry flag is defined as an u32. Split the SBAL entry flag into four u8's as defined by the hardware and don't touch the reserved bits. 2011-05-13qeth: convert to hw_features part 2Frank Blaschka
Set rx csum default to hw checksumming again. Remove sysfs interface for rx csum (checksumming) and TSO (large_send). 2010-11-08qeth: remove dev_queue_xmit invocationUrsula Braun
For a certain Hipersockets specific error code in the xmit path, the qeth driver tries to invoke dev_queue_xmit again. Commit 79640a4ca6955e3ebdb7038508fa7a0cd7fa5527 introduces a busylock causing locking problems in case of re-invoked dev_queue_xmit by qeth. This patch removes the attempts to retry packet sending with dev_queue_xmit from the qeth driver. 2010-09-08qeth: NAPI support for l2 and l3 disciplineFrank Blaschka
This patch adds NAPI support to the qeth layer 2 and layer 3 discipline. It is important to understand that we can not enable/disable IRQs as usual, we have to use the corresponding new QDIO interface. Also to not overdraw the budget we have to stop and restart buffer processing at any point during processing a bulk of QDIO buffers. Having the driver NAPI enabled it is possible to turn on GRO for the layer 3 discipline. Signed-off-by: Frank Blaschka <frank.blaschka@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2010-07-23qeth: avoid loop if ipa command response is missingUrsula Braun
If qeth issues an ipa command, but for some reasons the response never comes back, qeth reaches a timeout. 2010-07-23qeth: serialize sysfs-triggered device configurationsUrsula Braun
This patch serializes device removal and other sysfs-triggered configurations by moving removal of sysfs-attributes to the beginning of the remove functions. And it serializes online/offline setting and discipline-switching (causing reestablishing of the net_device) by making use of a new discipline mutex. 2010-06-23qeth: fix page breaks in hw headersFrank Blaschka
Turning on memory debugging showed there could be page breaks in hardware headers. OSA does not allow this so we had to add code to bounce the header in case there is a page break. This patch also fixes a problem in case the skb->data part of a fragmented skb spreads multiple pages. Signed-off-by: Frank Blaschka <frank.blaschka@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2010-06-23qeth: Fold qeth_qerr debug areaCarsten Otte
This patch removes the qerr debug area. Most info that goes in here is logged to the card's local debug area already, those duplicates are removed. All other elements are moved to the card's local debug area. Signed-off-by: Carsten Otte <cotte@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Frank Blaschka <frank.blaschka@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2010-06-23qeth: Fold qeth_misc debug areaCarsten Otte
This patch removes the misc debug area. Instead of logging the entire skb we just log a pointer to it into the card's local debug area in qeth_core_get_next_skb. Other then that, this debug area is not used anywhere. Signed-off-by: Carsten Otte <cotte@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Frank Blaschka <frank.blaschka@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2010-06-23qeth: Fold qeth_sense debug areaCarsten Otte
This patch removes the sense debug area completely. Despite the name this debug area makes no sense at all because it's unused completely. Ouch. 2010-06-23qeth: Fold qeth_trace debug areaCarsten Otte
This patch removes the qeth_trace debug area. All relevant data is logged into either qeth_setup or into each card's own debug area. Superfluous information (such as the card number when logging into the card's own debug area) is removed without replacement. 2010-06-23qeth: Add new s390 debug feature for each qeth cardCarsten Otte
This patch adds a debug area for each qeth card. This debug area will replace various other debug areas that are global for all cards handled by the device driver. On crash dump analysis this makes life easier when trying to find out what's going on with an interface. Also, the forest of debug areas for this device driver is significantly cleared up. 2009-11-16qeth: rework TSO functionsFrank Blaschka
The maximum TSO size OSA can handle is 15 * PAGE_SIZE. This patch reduces gso_max_size to this value and adds some sanity checks and statistics to the TSO implementation. Since only layer 3 is able to do TSO move all TSO related functions to the qeth_l3 module. Signed-off-by: Frank Blaschka <frank.blaschka@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: David S.
