2015-01-27video/fbdev: fix defio's fsyncTomi Valkeinen
commit 30ea9c5218651bc11cbdba7820be78f04e2d83bc upstream. fb_deferred_io_fsync() returns the value of schedule_delayed_work() as an error code, but schedule_delayed_work() does not return an error. It returns true/false depending on whether the work was already queued. Fix this by ignoring the return value of schedule_delayed_work(). 2015-01-23video: fsl-dcu-fb: reset layers before initialize themStefan Agner
Reset all layers before calling register_framebuffer. Registring a frame buffer device can lead to panel/layers getting enabled immediately, especially when using virtual terminals. In this situation, the other layers have not yet been initialized. Upon writing the DCU_UPDATE_MODE register, which essentially enables the controller, the system sometimes freezed. It looks like the controller relied on stale layer configurations which lead to a system freeze (probably due to illegal memory accesses). This has mainly been observed on Colibri VF50 devices. The user does not see any kernel output because the DCU frame buffer gets initialized before the serial console. Using earlyprintk, the last message beeing shown are: ... 2015-01-23fbmem: fix race condition between register_framebuffer() and fb_open()Fabio Erculiani
register_framebuffer() acquires registration_lock, then calls do_register_framebuffer() which calls fb_notifier_call_chain() which calls fb_open() which calls get_fb_info() which tries (at last) to acquire registration_lock again. This is a workaround. Signed-off-by: Fabio Erculiani <lxnay@sabayon.org>
2014-12-16video: fsl-dcu-fb: fix pixel clock polarityStefan Agner
The pixel clock polarity setting was still wrong: In contrast what earlier mentioned, the reference manual is correct! But the kernel display flags are rather somewhat confusing: The flags specify the edge where the data should be driven by the controller (and hence not sampled by the display!). We convert the display flag to the display centric DCU notation when getting the videomode from device tree.
2014-12-12video: fsl-dcu-fb: add suspend/resume supportStefan Agner
Add suspend and resume support which disables the panel completely. Tested with the main frame buffer instance (fb0).
2014-12-03video: fsl-dcu-fb: fix signal polarity definesStefan Agner
Fix defines for pixel clock and pixel data polarity. Configuring pixel clock is now actually possible. On most display this needs to be set, hence until now, some displays showed green or white artefacts (e.g. EDT 5.7"). This is solved by this commit.
2014-11-19video: fsl-dcu-fb: add video= cmdline supportStefan Agner
Add video= cmd support through converting the display timings into a modedb and using the fb_find_mode helper. Because we need to pass the fb_info struct, we do this for every layer. This is not a clean solution but proved to work reliable.
2014-11-19video: fsl-dcu-fb: support signal polarity configurationStefan Agner
Use the display timing configurations hsync-/vsync- and pixelclk- active properties. The hsync- and vsync-active configuration is available through the fb_videomode sync field. But pixelclk-active need to be stored seperately because when converting the struct display_timing to struct fb_videomode, this information gets lost. Hence we cannot pick a mode from the modelist and expect that pixelclk-active is set correctly. But currently modelist is not used by anything, hence this is no issue.
2014-11-19video: fsl-dcu-fb: use native-display timingStefan Agner
Use the timing defined in the native-display property by default. Get display timings from device tree only once in probe instead for each framebuffer layer again.
2014-11-19video: fsl-dcu-fb: use num_timings to iterate timingsStefan Agner
Use num_timings when iterating through available timings. This saves getting the display-timings node again.
2014-11-19fb: Add DCU framebuffer driver for Vybrid VF610 platformAlison Wang
The Display Controller Unit (DCU) module is a system master that fetches graphics stored in internal or external memory and displays them on a TFT LCD panel. A wide range of panel sizes is supported and the timing of the interface signals is highly configurable. Graphics are read directly from memory and then blended in real-time, which allows for dynamic content creation with minimal CPU intervention. The features: (1) Full RGB888 output to TFT LCD panel. (2) For the current LCD panel, WQVGA "480x272" is supported. (3) Blending of each pixel using up to 4 source layers dependent on size of panel. (4) Each graphic layer can be placed with one pixel resolution in either axis. (5) Each graphic layer support RGB565 and RGB888 direct colors without alpha channel and BGRA8888 direct colors with an alpha channel. (6) Each graphic layer support alpha blending with 8-bit resolution. This driver has been tested on Vybrid VF610TWR board. 2014-10-22OMAPDSS: DSI: Fix PLL_SELFEQDCO field widthTomi Valkeinen
PLL_SELFREQDCO bitfield is from bit 3 to 1, but the driver writes bits from 4 to 1. The bit 4 is 'reserved', so this probably should not cause any issues, but it's better to fix it. Signed-off-by: Tomi Valkeinen <tomi.valkeinen@ti.com>
2014-10-22OMAPDSS: fix dispc register dump for preload & mflagTomi Valkeinen
Preload register is dumped twice for video overlays and mflag register is not dumped for GFX. Fix the register dump. Signed-off-by: Tomi Valkeinen <tomi.valkeinen@ti.com>

2014-10-22OMAPDSS: HDMI: fix regsd writeTomi Valkeinen
HDMI PLL's REGSD field is only set by the driver if the PLL's output clock is over 1GHz. This is clearly an error, as REGSD should be set always. Signed-off-by: Tomi Valkeinen <tomi.valkeinen@ti.com>
2014-10-22OMAPDSS: HDMI: fix PLL GO bit handlingTomi Valkeinen
The PLL settings are committed by setting GO bit, which is then cleared by the HW when the settings have been taken into use. The current PLL code handles this wrong: instead of waiting for the bit to be cleared, it waits for the bit to be set. Usually, the bit is always set, as the CPU has just set it before. However, if the CPU takes enough time between setting the GO bit and checking it, the HW may already have cleared the bit and this leads to timeout error. Fix the wait to check the bit properly. Signed-off-by: Tomi Valkeinen <tomi.valkeinen@ti.com>
2014-10-22OMAPFB: fix releasing overlaysTomi Valkeinen
omapfb disables all the overlays when freeing resources, but it should also remove those overlays from overlay managers. Not doing so causes a crash if omapfb is unbound and bound, or omapfb module is removed and loaded, while keeping omapdss around. Fix this by calling unset_manager() for all overlays. Signed-off-by: Tomi Valkeinen <tomi.valkeinen@ti.com>
2014-10-22OMAPFB: fix overlay disable when freeing resources.Tomi Valkeinen
When omapfb is shutting down, it will disable all the overlays. However, instead of actually disabling all the overlays, it disables only all the overlays that are currently attached to framebuffers. On OMAP4+, this leaves the fourth overlay left enabled. Fix the loop so that we actually go through all the overlays. Signed-off-by: Tomi Valkeinen <tomi.valkeinen@ti.com>
2014-10-22OMAPDSS: apply: wait pending updates on manager disableTomi Valkeinen
We should wait for any pending updates when an overlay manager is about to be disabled, because the updates will never be finished if the manager is disabled too early. Signed-off-by: Tomi Valkeinen <tomi.valkeinen@ti.com>
2014-10-22OMAPFB: remove __exit annotationFelipe Balbi
If we leave __exit annotation, driver can't be unbound through sysfs. Signed-off-by: Felipe Balbi <balbi@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Tomi Valkeinen <tomi.valkeinen@ti.com>
2014-10-22OMAPDSS: set suppress_bind_attrsTomi Valkeinen
omapdss drivers cannot handle devices being unbound while the devices are part of a connected display pipeline. Module refcounts are used to prevent unloading the modules, but one can still manually unbind the devices via sysfs, causing crash. Set suppress_bind_attrs to disable the bind/unbind support via sysfs. Signed-off-by: Tomi Valkeinen <tomi.valkeinen@ti.com>
2014-10-22OMAPFB: add missing MODULE_ALIAS()Felipe Balbi
without MODULE_ALIAS(), omapfb won't get loaded automatically. Signed-off-by: Felipe Balbi <balbi@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Tomi Valkeinen <tomi.valkeinen@ti.com>

2014-10-14video: fbdev: replace strnicmp with strncasecmpRasmus Villemoes
The kernel used to contain two functions for length-delimited, case-insensitive string comparison, strnicmp with correct semantics and a slightly buggy strncasecmp. The latter is the POSIX name, so strnicmp was renamed to strncasecmp, and strnicmp made into a wrapper for the new strncasecmp to avoid breaking existing users. To allow the compat wrapper strnicmp to be removed at some point in the future, and to avoid the extra indirection cost, do s/strnicmp/strncasecmp/g. 2014-10-09Merge tag 'gpio-v3.18-1' of ↵Linus Torvalds
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/linusw/linux-gpio Pull GPIO changes from Linus Walleij: "This is the bulk of GPIO changes for the v3.18 development cycle: - Increase the default ARCH_NR_GPIO from 256 to 512. This was done to avoid having a custom <asm/gpio.h> header for the x86 architecture - GPIO is custom and complicated enough as it is already! We want to move to a radix to store the descriptors going forward, and finally get rid of this fixed array size altogether. - Endgame patching of the gpio_remove() semantics initiated by Abdoulaye Berthe. It is not accepted by the system that the removal of a GPIO chip fails during eg reboot or shutdown, and therefore the return value has now painfully been refactored away. For special cases like GPIO expanders on a hot-pluggable bus like USB, we may later add some gpiochip_try_remove() call, but for the cases we have now, return values are moot. - Some incremental refactoring of the gpiolib core and ACPI GPIO library for more descriptor usage. - Refactor the chained IRQ handler set-up method to handle also threaded, nested interrupts and set up the parent IRQ correctly. Switch STMPE and TC3589x drivers to use this registration method. - Add a .irq_not_threaded flag to the struct gpio_chip, so that also GPIO expanders that block but are still not using threaded IRQ handlers. - New drivers for the ARM64 X-Gene SoC GPIO controller. - The syscon GPIO driver has been improved to handle the "DSP GPIO" found on the TI Keystone 2 SoC:s. - ADNP driver switched to use gpiolib irqchip helpers. - Refactor the DWAPB driver to support being instantiated from and MFD cell (platform device). - Incremental feature improvement in the Zynq, MCP23S08, DWAPB, OMAP, Xilinx and Crystalcove drivers. - Various minor fixes" * tag 'gpio-v3.18-1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/linusw/linux-gpio: (52 commits) gpio: pch: Build context save/restore only for PM pinctrl: abx500: get rid of unused variable gpio: ks8695: fix 'else should follow close brace '}'' gpio: stmpe: add verbose debug code gpio: stmpe: fix up interrupt enable logic gpio: staticize xway_stp_init() gpio: handle also nested irqchips in the chained handler set-up gpio: set parent irq on chained handlers gpiolib: irqchip: use irq_find_mapping while removing irqchip gpio: crystalcove: support virtual GPIO pinctrl: bcm281xx: make Kconfig dependency more strict gpio: kona: enable only on BCM_MOBILE or for compile testing gpio, bcm-kona, LLVMLinux: Remove use of __initconst gpio: Fix ngpio in gpio-xilinx driver gpio: dwapb: fix pointer to integer cast gpio: xgene: Remove unneeded #ifdef CONFIG_OF guard gpio: xgene: Remove unneeded forward declation for struct xgene_gpio gpio: xgene: Fix missing spin_lock_init() gpio: ks8695: fix switch case indentation gpiolib: add irq_not_threaded flag to gpio_chip ...

2014-09-30fbdev: sh_mobile_hdmi: Re-init regs before irq re-enable on resumeGeert Uytterhoeven
When the PM domain containing the HDMI hardware block is powered down, the HDMI register values (incl. interrupt polarity settings) are lost. During resume, after powering up the PM domain, interrupts are re-enabled, and an interrupt storm happens due to incorrect interrupt polarity settings: irq 163: nobody cared (try booting with the "irqpoll" option) ... Disabling IRQ #163 To fix this, re-initialize the interrupt polarity settings, and the htop1 register block (if present), during resume. As the .suspend_noirq() and .resume_noirq() callbacks are not called when using the generic PM domain, the normal .resume() callback is used, and the device interrupt needs to be disabled/enabled manually. This fixes resume from s2ram with power down of the A4MP PM domain on r8a7740/Armadillo. 2014-09-30framebuffer: fix screen corruption when copyingMikulas Patocka
The function bitcpy_rev has a bug that may result in screen corruption. The bug happens under these conditions: * the end of the destination area of a copy operation is aligned on a long word boundary * the end of the source area is not aligned on a long word boundary * we are copying more than one long word In this case, the variable shift is non-zero and the variable first is zero. The statements FB_WRITEL(comp(d0, FB_READL(dst), first), dst) reads the last long word of the destination and writes it back unchanged (because first is zero). Correctly, we should write the variable d0 to the last word of the destination in this case. This patch fixes the bug by introducing and extra test if first is zero. The patch also removes the references to fb_memmove in the code that is commented out because fb_memmove was removed from framebuffer subsystem.
