2021-04-07toradex: configblock: fix module revision in config blocktoradex_2019.07-nexttoradex_2019.07Denys Drozdov
U-boot might display wrong module revision information for modules with an assembly version 'K'. "cfgblock create" does not takes into account all revision digits from PID8. This fix takes into account 6th,7th digits of PID8 to store module revision. Related-to: ELB-3893 Signed-off-by: Denys Drozdov <denys.drozdov@toradex.com>

2020-08-17drivers/crypto/fsl: assign job-rings to non-TrustZoneBryan O'Donoghue
After enabling TrustZone various parts of the CAAM silicon become inaccessible to non TrustZone contexts. The job-ring registers are designed to allow non TrustZone contexts like Linux to still submit jobs to CAAM even after TrustZone has been enabled. The default job-ring permissions after the BootROM look like this for job-ring zero. ms=0x00008001 ls=0x00008001 The MS field is JRaMIDR_MS (job ring MID most significant). Referring to "Security Reference Manual for i.MX 7Dual and 7Solo Applications Processors, Rev. 0, 03/2017" section 8.10.4 we see that JROWN_NS controls whether or not a job-ring is accessible from non TrustZone. Bit 15 (TrustZone) is the logical inverse of bit 3 hence the above value of 0x8001 shows that JROWN_NS=0 and TrustZone=1. Clearly then as soon as TrustZone becomes active the job-ring registers are no longer accessible from Linux, which is not what we want. This patch explicitly sets all job-ring registers to JROWN_NS=1 (non TrustZone) by default and to the Non-Secure MID 001. Both settings are required to successfully assign a job-ring to non-secure mode. If a piece of TrustZone firmware requires ownership of job-ring registers it can unset the JROWN_NS bit itself. This patch in conjunction with a modification of the Linux kernel to skip HWRNG initialisation makes CAAM usable to Linux with TrustZone enabled. 2020-06-03toradex: imx: enable BOOTCOUNT featureIgor Opaniuk
This introduces automatic boot counter that increases after every reset. After a power-on reset, it will be initialized with 1, and each reboot will increment the value by 1. By default it's disabled if bootlimit isn't set. To enable this feature you have set bootcount limit ("bootlimit"), alternate boot action ("altbootcmd") that will be performed if the new value of bootcount exceeds the value of bootlimit, and "upgrade_available" to let U-Boot automatically increase and save the counter value after every reset: > setenv bootlimit 5 > setenv upgrade_available 1 > setenv altbootcmd "bootm ..." In case the bootlimit exceeds, the message will be shown and albootcmd executed: Warning: Bootlimit (5) exceeded. Using altbootcmd. Example of USB nodes for iMX7S/D: usbotg1: usb@30b10000 { compatible = "fsl,imx7d-usb", "fsl,imx27-usb"; reg = <0x30b10000 0x200>; ^^^^^^^^^^ .... usbotg2: usb@30b20000 { compatible = "fsl,imx7d-usb", "fsl,imx27-usb"; reg = <0x30b20000 0x200>; ^^^^^^^^^^ .... usbh: usb@30b30000 { compatible = "fsl,imx7d-usb", "fsl,imx27-usb"; reg = <0x30b30000 0x200>; ^^^^^^^^^^ .... 2020-03-04board: apalis_imx6: Add KSZ9131 phy skew settingsPhilippe Schenker
This patch adds skew register settings for KSZ9131. It checks first which phy is on the board and then applies the correct skew settings. Skew settings calculation for the KSZ9131: The i.MX6 SoC has an output skew tolerance of -100ps to 900ps. All PCB traces where routed exactly the same length so we can calculate the skew settings without taking the length into consideration. RXC skew (PHY to MAC): - We use the 2ns DLL controlled delay on the PHY - We do not use the skew registers This results in the following values: RXC PHY fixed Delay 2000ps PHY Added Delay 0ps T_setup_R min 2.00ns T_setup_R typ 2.00ns T_setup_R max 2.00ns T_hold_R min 1.60ns T_hold_R typ 2.00ns T_hold_R max 2.40ns That means we are well within RGMII specs. TXC skew (MAC to PHY): - We use the 2ns DLL controlled delay on the PHY - We then substract ~0.6ns with TXD[0:3] and TXC clock pad skew register in a resulting ~1.4ns delay. This results in the following values under consideration of the tolerances: TXC min TXC typ TXC max MAC min -100ps -100ps -100ps MAC max 900ps 900ps 900ps PHY fixed Delay 2000ps 2000ps 2000ps PHY added Delay -340ps -600ps -859ps T_setup_T min 1.56ns 1.30ns 1.04ns T_setup_T typ 2.06ns 1.80ns 1.54ns T_setup_T max 2.56ns 2.30ns 2.04ns T_hold_T min 1.04ns 1.30ns 1.56ns T_hold_T typ 1.94ns 2.20ns 2.46ns T_hold_T max 2.84ns 3.10ns 3.36ns This shows that T_hold_T min and T_setup_T min times are out of spec for RGMII timing. However the KSZ9131 has a minimal value for this time of 0.8ns which is met under all circumstances. Related-to: ELB-1299 Signed-off-by: Philippe Schenker <philippe.schenker@toradex.com>

Currently imx-specific bootaux command doesn't support ELF format firmware for Cortex-M4 core. This patches introduces a PoC implementation of handling elf firmware (load_elf_image_phdr() was copy-pasted from elf.c just for PoC). This has the advantage that the user does not need to know to which address the binary has been linked to. However, in order to handle and load the elf sections to the right address, we need to translate the Cortex-M4 core memory addresses to primary/host CPU memory addresses (Cortex A7/A9 cores). This allows to boot firmwares from any location with just using bootaux, e.g.: > tftp ${loadaddr} hello_world.elf && bootaux ${loadaddr} Similar translation table can be found in the Linux remoteproc driver [1]. 2019-12-23board: colibri_imx7: reserve DDR memory for Cortex-M4Igor Opaniuk
i.MX 7's Cortex-M4 core can run from DDR and uses DDR memory for the rpmsg communication. Both use cases need a fixed location of memory reserved. For the rpmsg use case the reserved area needs to be in sync with the kernel's hardcoded vring descriptor location. Use the linux,usable-memory property to carve out 1MB of memory in case the M4 core is running. Also make sure that the i.MX 7 specific rpmsg driver does not get loaded in case we do not carve out memory. 2019-08-16apalis-tk1: do not explicitly release reset_moci#Marcel Ziswiler
By keeping RESET_MOCI_CTRL low we avoid explicitly releasing RESET_MOCI#. Please note that module hardware versions up to V1.1A will already release RESET_MOCI# in hardware coming out of reset. Please further note that with this change the USB hub on the Apalis Evaluation board is kept in reset in U-Boot and therefore none of its ports are operational in U-Boot. 2019-07-13toradex: configblock: initialize MMC before switching partitionStefan Agner
If the module is in serial downloader mode, we do no longer read the environment from eMMC. Therefor, the eMMC is unitialized when trying to read the config block. Use mmc_init to initialize the selected MMC device before using it. Note: In case the MMC has already been initialized, the mmc_init detects that and returns immediately.
