2018-03-21imx: initialize and use generic timer on i.MX 6UL/ULLStefan Agner
The i.MX 6UL/ULL feature a Cortex-A7 CPU which suppor the ARM generic timer. This change makes use of the ARM generic timer in U-Boot. This is crucial to make the ARM generic timers usable in Linux since timer_init() initalizes the system counter module, which is necessary to use the generic timers CP15 registers. 2015-06-08mx6_common: Fix LOADADDR and SYS_TEXT_BASE for MX6SL and MX6SXFabio Estevam
Commit 8183058188cd2d942 ("imx6: centralise common boot options in mx6_common.h") broke boot on mx6sl and mx6sx by assuming that all mx6 SoCs use the same LOADADDR/SYS_TEXT_BASE range, which is not correct. DDR on mx6sx/mx6sl starts at 0x80000000. Adjust LOADADDR/SYS_TEXT_BASE to the proper values for mx6sx/mx6sl, so that these SoCs can boot again. 2014-06-17mx6: drop ARM errata 742230Shawn Guo
Commit e9fd66defd7e (ARM: mx6: define CONFIG_ARM_ERRATA_742230) enables errata 742230 for imx6, because it helps remove one reboot issue. However, this errata does not really apply on imx6, because Cortex-A9 on imx6 is r2p10 while the errata only applies to revisions r1p0..r2p2. At a later time, commit f71cbfe3ca5d (ARM: Add workaround for Cortex-A9 errata 794072) adds support of errata 794072, which applies to all Cortex-A9 revisions. As the workaround for both errata are exactly same, it makes a lot more sense to select 794072 instead of 742230 for imx6. The ARM errata 742230 - "ARM errata: DMB operation may be faulty" is claimed for Cortex-A9 (r1p0..r2p2). Though i.MX6 uses a newer revision than r2p2, we are seeing a reboot failure on i.MX6 SMP build that can be fixed by applying the workaround for this errata.
