2013-05-06ARM: OMAP4: change the device names in usb_bind_phyKishon Vijay Abraham I
After the device names are created using PLATFORM_DEVID_AUTO, the old device names given in usb_bind_phy are no longer valid causing the musb controller not to get the phy reference. Updated the usb_bind_phy with the new device names to get MUSB functional in omap4 panda. Signed-off-by: Kishon Vijay Abraham I <kishon@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>
2013-04-02ARM: OMAP2+: omap4panda: Adapt to ehci-omap changesRoger Quadros
Use usbhs_init_phys() to register the PHY's VCC and RESET regulators and the NOP PHY device. Get rid of managing the PHY clock as it will be done by the PHY driver. For that to work we create a clock alias that links the PHY clock name to the PHY device name. Signed-off-by: Roger Quadros <rogerq@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>

2013-02-21Merge tag 'cleanup' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-socLinus Torvalds
Pull ARM SoC cleanups from Arnd Bergmann: "A large number of cleanups, all over the platforms. This is dominated largely by the Samsung platforms (s3c, s5p, exynos) and a few of the others moving code out of arch/arm into more appropriate subsystems. The clocksource and irqchip drivers are now abstracted to the point where platforms that are already cleaned up do not need to even specify the driver they use, it can all get configured from the device tree as we do for normal device drivers. The clocksource changes basically touch every single platform in the process. We further clean up the use of platform specific header files here, with the goal of turning more of the platforms over to being "multiplatform" enabled, which implies that they cannot expose their headers to architecture independent code any more. It is expected that no functional changes are part of the cleanup. The overall reduction in total code lines is mostly the result of removing broken and obsolete code." * tag 'cleanup' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc: (133 commits) ARM: mvebu: correct gated clock documentation ARM: kirkwood: add missing include for nsa310 ARM: exynos: move exynos4210-combiner to drivers/irqchip mfd: db8500-prcmu: update resource passing drivers/db8500-cpufreq: delete dangling include ARM: at91: remove NEOCORE 926 board sunxi: Cleanup the reset code and add meaningful registers defines ARM: S3C24XX: header mach/regs-mem.h local ARM: S3C24XX: header mach/regs-power.h local ARM: S3C24XX: header mach/regs-s3c2412-mem.h local ARM: S3C24XX: Remove plat-s3c24xx directory in arch/arm/ ARM: S3C24XX: transform s3c2443 subirqs into new structure ARM: S3C24XX: modify s3c2443 irq init to initialize all irqs ARM: S3C24XX: move s3c2443 irq code to irq.c ARM: S3C24XX: transform s3c2416 irqs into new structure ARM: S3C24XX: modify s3c2416 irq init to initialize all irqs ARM: S3C24XX: move s3c2416 irq init to common irq code ARM: S3C24XX: Modify s3c_irq_wake to use the hwirq property ARM: S3C24XX: Move irq syscore-ops to irq-pm clocksource: always define CLOCKSOURCE_OF_DECLARE ...

git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tmlind/linux-omap into next/soc These changes contain the OMAP USB related platform data changes that were dropped from linux next because of the merge conflicts as requested by me and Olof. The reason was that at this point we really should be able to do the arch/arm related changes separately from driver changes to avoid dependencies between branches. These patches were initially part of the USB related MFD patches. Based on our comments, Roger Quadros quickly reworked these patches into a shared branch between ARM SoC tree and the MFD tree, then separate patches for the OMAP platform data and MFD driver. Note that this branch will conflict with c1d1cd597fc7 ("ARM: OMAP2+: omap_device: remove obsolete pm_lats and early_device code"). Please see http://lkml.org/lkml/2013/2/11/16 for the merge resolution. [arnd - resolved the merge conflict] Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>
2013-02-14ARM: OMAP: Consolidate OMAP USB-HS platform data (part 3/3)Roger Quadros
Let's have a single platform data structure for the OMAP's High-Speed USB host subsystem instead of having 3 separate ones i.e. one for board data, one for USB Host (UHH) module and one for USB-TLL module. This makes the code much simpler and avoids creating multiple copies of platform data. Signed-off-by: Roger Quadros <rogerq@ti.com> Reviewed-by: Felipe Balbi <balbi@ti.com>

This is w.r.t the changes in PHY library to support adding and getting multiple PHYs of the same type. In the new design, the binding information between the PHY and the USB controller should be specified in the platform specific initialization code. So it's been done here for OMAP platforms. 2012-12-24ARM: delete struct sys_timerStephen Warren
Now that the only field in struct sys_timer is .init, delete the struct, and replace the machine descriptor .timer field with the initialization function itself. This will enable moving timer drivers into drivers/clocksource without having to place a public prototype of each struct sys_timer object into include/linux; the intent is to create a single of_clocksource_init() function that determines which timer driver to initialize by scanning the device dtree, much like the proposed irqchip_init() at: http://www.spinics.net/lists/arm-kernel/msg203686.html Includes mach-omap2 fixes from Igor Grinberg. 2012-11-07OMAP: panda: move display init from board file to dss-common.cTomi Valkeinen
Device tree support for omapdss is still some way in the future. In an effort to get a minimal DSS support for DT enabled kernel on selected OMAP4 boards, we'll go for a temporary solution: We will call the same non-DT omapdss setup code for OMAP4 SDP and Pandaboards from board-generic.c, thus enabling DSS for those boards. This patch moves the display setup code from board-omap4panda.c to dss-common.c. dss-common.c will be called by the board-omap4panda.c when running on non-DT kernel, and by board-generic.c when running on DT enabled kernel. git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc Pull ARM soc multiplatform enablement from Olof Johansson: "This is a pretty significant branch. It's the introduction of the first multiplatform support on ARM, and with this (and the later branch) merged, it is now possible to build one kernel that contains support for highbank, vexpress, mvebu, socfpga, and picoxcell. More platforms will be convered over in the next few releases. Two critical last things had to be done for this to be practical and possible: * Today each platform has its own include directory under mach-<mach>/include/mach/*, and traditionally that is where a lot of driver/platform shared definitions have gone, such as platform data structures. They now need to move out to a common location instead, and this branch moves a large number of those out to include/linux/platform_data. * Each platform used to list the device trees to compile for its boards in mach-<mach>/Makefile.boot. Both of the above changes will mean that there are some merge conflicts to come (and some to resolve here). It's a one-time move and once it settles in, we should be good for quite a while. Sorry for the overhead." 2012-09-24ARM: OMAP4: twl-common: Support for additional devices on i2c1 busPeter Ujfalusi
On OMAP4 the i2c1 bus is dedicated for the PMIC and audio related devices. Manufacturers can opt to use different codec than twl6040 and also can add audio related IC to the bus (external amplifier for example on SDP4430). Make it possible to add different set of additional devices to i2c1 bus on OMAP4 boards. 2012-09-22ARM: omap: clk: add clk_prepare and clk_unprepareRajendra Nayak
As part of Common Clk Framework (CCF) the clk_enable() operation was split into a clk_prepare() which could sleep, and a clk_enable() which should never sleep. Similarly the clk_disable() was split into clk_disable() and clk_unprepare(). This was needed to handle complex cases where in a clk gate/ungate would require a slow and a fast part to be implemented. None of the clocks below seem to be in the 'complex' clocks category and are just simple clocks which are enabled/disabled through simple register writes. Most of the instances also seem to be called in non-atomic context which means its safe to move all of those from using a clk_enable() to clk_prepare_enable() and clk_disable() to clk_disable_unprepare(). For some others, mainly the ones handled through the hwmod framework there is a possibility that they get called in either an atomic or a non-atomic context. The way these get handled below work only as long as clk_prepare is implemented as a no-op (which is the case today) since this gets called very early at boot while most subsystems are unavailable. Hence these are marked with a *HACK* comment, which says we need to re-visit these once we start doing something meaningful with clk_prepare/clk_unprepare like doing voltage scaling or something that involves i2c. This is in preparation of OMAP moving to CCF. Based on initial changes from Mike Turquette. Signed-off-by: Rajendra Nayak <rnayak@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Paul Walmsley <paul@pwsan.com>

2012-09-12ARM: OMAP: Split plat/hardware.h, use local soc.h for omap2+Tony Lindgren
As the plat and mach includes need to disappear for single zImage work, we need to remove plat/hardware.h. Do this by splitting plat/hardware.h into omap1 and omap2+ specific files. The old plat/hardware.h already has omap1 only defines, so it gets moved to mach/hardware.h for omap1. For omap2+, we use the local soc.h that for now just includes the related SoC headers to keep this patch more readable. Note that the local soc.h still includes plat/cpu.h that can be dealt with in later patches. Let's also include plat/serial.h from common.h for all the board-*.c files. This allows making the include files local later on without patching these files again. Note that only minimal changes are done in this patch for the drivers/watchdog/omap_wdt.c driver to keep things compiling. Further patches are needed to eventually remove cpu_is_omap usage in the drivers. Also only minimal changes are done to sound/soc/omap/* to remove the unneeded includes and to define OMAP44XX_MCPDM_L3_BASE locally so there's no need to include omap44xx.h. While at it, also sort some of the includes in the standard way. 2012-09-12ARM: OMAP2+: Prepare for irqs.h removalTony Lindgren
As the interrupts should only be defined in the platform_data, and eventually coming from device tree, there's no need to define them in header files. Let's remove the hardcoded references to irqs.h and fix up the includes so we don't rely on headers included in irqs.h. Note that we're defining OMAP_INTC_START as 0 to the interrupts. This will be needed when we enable SPARSE_IRQ. For some drivers we need to add #include <plat/cpu.h> for now until these drivers are fixed to remove cpu_is_omapxxxx() usage. While at it, sort som of the includes the standard way, and add the trailing commas where they are missing in the related data structures. Note that for drivers/staging/tidspbridge we just define things locally. Cc: Paul Walmsley <paul@pwsan.com> Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>

2012-09-07OMAPDSS: HDMI: Move GPIO handling to HDMI driverTomi Valkeinen
We currently manage HDMI GPIOs in the board files via platform_enable/disable calls. This won't work with device tree, and in any case the correct place to manage the GPIOs is in the HDMI driver. This patch moves the handling of the GPIOs to the HDMI driver. The GPIO handling is moved to the common hdmi.c file, and this probably needs to be revisited when adding OMAP5 HDMI support to see if the GPIO handling needs to be moved to IP specific files.
