2012-01-04powerpc/fsl: update compatiable on fsl 16550 uart nodesKumar Gala
The Freescale serial port's are pretty much a 16550, however there are some FSL specific bugs and features. Add a "fsl,ns16550" compatiable string to allow code to handle those FSL specific issues. Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
2010-05-17powerpc/83xx: Add MCU LEDs support for MPC837xRDB and MPC8315RDB boardsAnton Vorontsov
There are two front-panel LEDs on MPC837xRDB and MPC8315RDB boards: PWR and HDD. After adding appropriate nodes we can program these LEDs from kernel and user space. Signed-off-by: Anton Vorontsov <avorontsov@mvista.com> Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
2009-09-23powerpc: introduce and document sdhci,wp-inverted property for eSDHCAnton Vorontsov
eSDHC block in MPC837x SOCs reports inverted write-protect state, soon sdhci-of driver will look for sdhci,wp-inverted properties to decide whether apply a specific quirk. So, document the property and add it to device tree source files. 2009-08-20powerpc/83xx: Add eSDHC support for MPC837xE-RDB/WLAN boardsAnton Vorontsov
Actually, the support is already there, but it requires newer U-Boots (to fill-in clock-frequency, and setup pin multiplexing). Though, it appears that on RDB boards USBB pins aren't multiplexed between USB and eSDHC (unlike MDS boards, where USB and eSDHC share pctl and pwrfault pins). So, for RDB boards we can safely setup pinmux and manually fill-in clock-frequency, thus making eSDHC work even with older u-boots. 2009-07-29powerpc/83xx: Fix PCI IO base address on MPC837xE-RDB boardsAnton Vorontsov
U-Boot maps PCI IO at 0xe0300000, while current dts files specify 0xe2000000. This leads to the following oops with CONFIG_8139TOO_PIO=y. 8139too Fast Ethernet driver 0.9.28 Machine check in kernel mode. Caused by (from SRR1=41000): Transfer error ack signal Oops: Machine check, sig: 7 [#1] MPC837x RDB [...] NIP [00000900] 0x900 LR [c0439df8] rtl8139_init_board+0x238/0x524 Call Trace: [cf831d90] [c0439dcc] rtl8139_init_board+0x20c/0x524 (unreliable) [cf831de0] [c043a15c] rtl8139_init_one+0x78/0x65c [cf831e40] [c0235250] pci_call_probe+0x20/0x30 [...] This patch fixes the issue by specifying the correct PCI IO base address. 2009-06-15powerpc/83xx: Update sdhci nodes per new bindingsAnton Vorontsov
As of commit 404614728f857d0ac63d29c3a29d0cf392a15598 ("Update FSL esdhc binding"), we use "fsl, esdhc" compatible entry as a base match. U-Boot will use the same compatible to fixup esdhc nodes. This patch updates 83xx dts files so that they conform to the new bindings. Signed-off-by: Anton Vorontsov <avorontsov@ru.mvista.com> Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
2009-03-24powerpc/83xx: Move gianfar mdio nodes under the ethernet nodesAnton Vorontsov
Currently it doesn't matter where the mdio nodes are placed, but with power management support (i.e. when sleep = <> properties will take effect), mdio nodes placement will become important: mdio controller is a part of the ethernet block, so the mdio nodes should be placed correctly. Otherwise we may wrongly assume that MDIO controllers are available during sleep. 2009-03-24powerpc/83xx: Add power management support for MPC837x boardsAnton Vorontsov
This patch adds pmc nodes to the device tree files so that the boards will able to use standby capability of MPC837x processors. The MPC837x PMC controllers are compatible with MPC8349 ones (i.e. no deep sleep). sleep = <> properties are used to specify SCCR masks as described in "Specifying Device Power Management Information (sleep property)" chapter in Documentation/powerpc/booting-without-of.txt. Since I2C1 and eSDHC controllers share the same clock source, they are now placed under sleep-nexus nodes. A processor is able to wakeup the boards on LAN events (Wake-On-Lan), console events (with no_console_suspend kernel command line), GPIO events and external IRQs (IRQ1 and IRQ2). The processor can also wakeup the boards by the fourth general purpose timer in GTM1 block, but the GTM wakeup support isn't yet implemented (it's tested to work, but it's unclear how can we use the quite short GTM timers, and how do we want to expose the GTM to userspace). 2009-02-06powerpc/83xx: Add FSL eSDHC support for MPC837x-RDB boardsAnton Vorontsov
Simply add appropriate sdhci nodes. Note that U-Boot should configure pin multiplexing for eSDHC prior to Linux could use it. U-Boot should also fill-in the clock-frequency property (eSDHC clock depends on board-specific SCCR[ESDHCCM] bits). 2009-01-28powerpc/83xx: Add PCI-E support for all MPC83xx boards with PCI-EAnton Vorontsov
This patch adds pcie nodes to the appropriate dts files, plus adds some probing code for the boards. Also, remove of_device_is_avaliable() check from the mpc837x_mds.c board file, as mpc83xx_add_bridge() has the same check now. 2008-12-16gianfar: Convert gianfar to an of_platform_driverAndy Fleming
Does the same for the accompanying MDIO driver, and then modifies the TBI configuration method. The old way used fields in einfo, which no longer exists. The new way is to create an MDIO device-tree node for each instance of gianfar, and create a tbi-handle property to associate ethernet controllers with the TBI PHYs they are connected to. 2008-10-20powerpc/83xx: Add support for MCU microcontroller in .dts filesAnton Vorontsov
MCU is an external Freescale MC9S08QG8 microcontroller, mainly used to provide soft power-off function, but also exports two GPIOs (wired to the LEDs and also available from the external headers). 2008-10-13powerpc: 83xx: pci: Remove need for get_immrbase from mpc83xx_add_bridge.John Rigby
Modify mpc83xx_add_bridge to get config space register base address from the device tree instead of immr + hardcoded offset. 83xx pci nodes have this change: register properties now contain two address length tuples: First is the pci bridge register base, this has always been there. Second is the config base, this is new. This is documented in dts-bindings/fsl/83xx-512x-pci.txt The changes accomplish these things: mpc83xx_add_bridge no longer needs to call get_immrbase it uses hard coded addresses if the second register value is missing Signed-off-by: John Rigby <jrigby@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>

2008-03-31[POWERPC] 83xx: Fix wrong USB phy type in mpc837xrdb dtsAnton Vorontsov
Due to chip constraint MPC837x USB DR module can only use ULPI and serial PHY interfaces. The patch fixes the wrong type in dts. This patch fixes USB malfunctioning on the MPC837xE-RDB boards. Similar patch has been already applied for the MDS boards: commit 28b958859206b7010d03129611c2e444898e3ee4 Author: Li Yang <leoli@freescale.com> Date: Thu Mar 6 18:42:26 2008 +0800 [POWERPC] 83xx: Fix wrong USB phy type in mpc837xmds dts Signed-off-by: Anton Vorontsov <avorontsov@ru.mvista.com> Signed-off-by: Kim Phillips <kim.phillips@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
2008-01-28[POWERPC] 83xx: Clean up / convert mpc83xx board DTS files to v1 format.Paul Gortmaker
This patch converts the remaining 83xx boards to the dts-v1 format. This includes the mpc8313_rdb, mpc832x_mds, mpc8323_rdb, mpc8349emitx, mpc8349emitxgp and the mpc836x_mds. The mpc8315_rdb mpc834x_mds, mpc837[789]_*, and sbc8349 were already dts-v1 and only undergo minor changes for the sake of formatting consistency across the whole group of boards; i.e. the idea being that you can do a "diff -u board_A.dts board_B.dts" and see something meaningful. The general rule I've applied is that entries for values normally parsed by humans are left in decimal (i.e. IRQ, cache size, clock rates, basic counts and indexes) and all other data (i.e. reg and ranges, IRQ flags etc.) remain in hex. I've used dtc to confirm that the output prior to this changeset matches the output after this changeset is applied for all boards.
