2013-08-07powerpc/fsl: Enable CONFIG_DEVTMPFS_MOUNT so /dev can be mounted correctlyZhenhua Luo
When using recent udev, the /dev node mount requires CONFIG_DEVTMPFS_MOUNT is enabled in Kernel. The patch enables the option in defconfig of Freescale QorIQ targets. 2011-01-20kconfig: rename CONFIG_EMBEDDED to CONFIG_EXPERTDavid Rientjes
The meaning of CONFIG_EMBEDDED has long since been obsoleted; the option is used to configure any non-standard kernel with a much larger scope than only small devices. This patch renames the option to CONFIG_EXPERT in init/Kconfig and fixes references to the option throughout the kernel. A new CONFIG_EMBEDDED option is added that automatically selects CONFIG_EXPERT when enabled and can be used in the future to isolate options that should only be considered for embedded systems (RISC architectures, SLOB, etc). Calling the option "EXPERT" more accurately represents its intention: only expert users who understand the impact of the configuration changes they are making should enable it. a recent fc11 udev update on an 83xx board made root console login disappear: Updating : udev-141-8.fc11.ppc 32/83 udev: starting version 141 udev: deprecated sysfs layout; update the kernel or disable CONFIG_SYSFS_DEPRECATED; some udev features will not work correctly and sure enough, turning off SYSFS_DEPRECATED brings the login prompt back.
