2009-12-08V4L/DVB (13313): saa7134: add support for FORCE_TS_VALID mode for mpeg ts inputMichael Krufky
commit 4007a672abd88091e3cced158ec491d41c0c454c upstream. When FORCE_TS_VALID mode is enabled, the saa713x will accept MPEG TS input without requiring TS_VALID set high. This is required for some new boards to function properly, due to the hardware design implementation. The configuration is toggled within the board setup configuration. Boards that do not have this bit set will function as before with no change. 2009-10-05saa7134: ir-kbd-i2c init data needs a persistent objectBrian Rogers
commit 7aedd5ec87686c557d48584d69ad880c11a0984d upstream. Tested on MSI TV@nywhere Plus. Original commit message: ir-kbd-i2c's ir_probe() function can be called much later (i.e. at ir-kbd-i2c module load), than the lifetime of a struct IR_i2c_init_data allocated off of the stack in cx18_i2c_new_ir() at registration time. Make sure we pass a pointer to a persistent IR_i2c_init_data object at i2c registration time. Thanks to Brian Rogers, Dustin Mitchell, Andy Walls and Jean Delvare to rise this question. Before this patch, if ir-kbd-i2c were probed after SAA7134, trash data were used. Compile tested only, but the patch is identical to em28xx one. So, it should work properly. Let card drivers probe for IR receiver devices and instantiate them if found. Ultimately it would be better if we could stop probing completely, but I suspect this won't be possible for all card types. There's certainly room for cleanups. For example, some drivers are sharing I2C adapter IDs, so they also had to share the list of I2C addresses being probed for an IR receiver. Now that each driver explicitly says which addresses should be probed, maybe some addresses can be dropped from some drivers. Also, the special cases in saa7134-i2c should probably be handled on a per-board basis. This would be more efficient and less risky than always probing extra addresses on all boards. v4l2_subdev. With all the v4l2_subdev changes that were made to these drivers it is a good idea to increase the version number of each driver. It's just the patch level that is increased, except for the zoran and saa7146 drivers where the minor number was increased due to the more substantial changes that were made to those two drivers. A detailed description from the original patches 2 years ago: "The WinTV-HVR3000 has a single transport bus which is shared between a DVB-T and DVB-S modulator. These patches build on the bus acquisition cx88 work from a few weeks ago to add support for this. So to applications the HVR3000 looks like this: /dev/dvb/adapter0/fe0 (cx24123 DVB-S demod) /dev/dvb/adapter0/fe1 (cx22702 DVB-T demod) Additional boards continue as before, eg: /dev/dvb/adapter1/fe0 (lgdt3302 ATSC demod) The basic change is removing the single instance of the videobuf_dvb in cx8802_dev and saa7134_dev(?) and replacing it with a list and some supporting functions. *NOTE* This branch was taken before v4l-dvb was closed for 2.6.19 so two or three current cx88 patches appear to be reversed by this tree, this will be cleaned up in the near future. non-tuner inputs When changing the standard the saa6752hs was not updated unless the input was the TV tuner. The saa6752hs should be updated regardless of the input. In addition the S_STD and G_STD ioctls for the mpeg video device didn't do anything. This is now fixed: they behave just like S_STD and G_STD on the video0 device. A simple state machine was added to saa7134_ts. It has three states: SAA7134_TS_STOPPED SAA7134_TS_BUFF_DONE SAA7134_TS_STARTED When buffer_setup is run we start the TS initialization: set SAA7134_TS_STOPPED. When all buffers are prepared we write data into DMA register and set SAA7134_TS_BUFF_DONE. When the first buffer is active start TS and set SAA7134_TS_STARTED. This patch adds support for the following saa7134 xc3028 based boards: 132 -> AVerMedia Cardbus TV/Radio (E506R) [1461:f436] 133 -> AVerMedia Hybrid TV/Radio (A16D) [1461:f936] 134 -> Avermedia M115 [1461:a836] 135 -> Compro VideoMate T750 [185b:c900] This is based on a original patch thanks to Markus Rechberger that added xc3028 gpio init code for the above boards. This patch moves saa7134_tuner_callback to saa7134-cards, originally used only by tda8290 DVB-S boards. The callback was made more generic to support other tuners.
