2016-05-05mtd: nand: kill the ecc->layout fieldBoris Brezillon
Now that all NAND drivers have switched to mtd_ooblayout_ops, we can kill the ecc->layout field. Signed-off-by: Boris Brezillon <boris.brezillon@free-electrons.com>
2016-05-05mtd: nand: bch: switch to mtd_ooblayout_opsBoris Brezillon
Replace the nand_ecclayout definition by the equivalent mtd_ooblayout_ops definition. Signed-off-by: Boris Brezillon <boris.brezillon@free-electrons.com>
2016-04-19mtd: nand: core: use mtd_ooblayout_xxx() helpers where appropriateBoris Brezillon
The mtd_ooblayout_xxx() helper functions have been added to avoid direct accesses to the ecclayout field, and thus ease for future reworks. Use these helpers in all places where the oobfree[] and eccpos[] arrays where directly accessed. Signed-off-by: Boris Brezillon <boris.brezillon@free-electrons.com>
2016-03-07mtd: nand: simplify nand_bch_init() usageBoris BREZILLON
nand_bch_init() requires several arguments which could directly be deduced from the mtd device. Get rid of those useless parameters. nand_bch_init() is also requiring the caller to provide a proper eccbytes value, while this value could be deduced from the ecc.size and ecc.strength value. Fallback to eccbytes calculation when it is set to 0. Signed-off-by: Boris Brezillon <boris.brezillon@free-electrons.com> Signed-off-by: Brian Norris <computersforpeace@gmail.com>
2016-01-06mtd: nand: return consistent error codes in ecc.correct() implementationsBoris BREZILLON
The error code returned by the ecc.correct() are not consistent over the all implementations. Document the expected behavior in include/linux/mtd/nand.h and fix offending implementations. [Brian: this looks like a bugfix for the ECC reporting in the bf5xx_nand driver, but we haven't seen any testing results for it] Signed-off-by: Boris Brezillon <boris.brezillon@free-electrons.com> Tested-by: Franklin S Cooper Jr. <fcooper@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Brian Norris <computersforpeace@gmail.com>
2015-12-08mtd: nand: make use of mtd_to_nand() in NAND core codeBoris BREZILLON
mtd_to_nand() was recently introduced to avoid direct access to the mtd->priv field. Update core code to use mtd_to_nand(). Signed-off-by: Boris Brezillon <boris.brezillon@free-electrons.com> Signed-off-by: Brian Norris <computersforpeace@gmail.com>
2011-09-11mtd: cleanup style on pr_debug messagesBrian Norris

2011-09-11mtd: replace DEBUG() with pr_debug()Brian Norris
Start moving away from the MTD_DEBUG_LEVEL messages. The dynamic debugging feature is a generic kernel feature that provides more flexibility. (See Documentation/dynamic-debug-howto.txt) Also fix some punctuation, indentation, and capitalization that went along with the affected lines. 2011-03-11mtd: nand: add software BCH ECC supportIvan Djelic
This patch adds software BCH ECC support to mtd, in order to handle recent NAND device ecc requirements (4 bits or more). It does so by adding a new ecc mode (NAND_ECC_SOFT_BCH) for use by board drivers, and a new Kconfig option to enable BCH support. It relies on the generic BCH library introduced in a previous patch. When a board driver uses mode NAND_ECC_SOFT_BCH, it should also set fields chip->ecc.size and chip->ecc.bytes to select BCH ecc data size and required error correction capability. See nand_bch_init() documentation for details. It has been tested on the following platforms using mtd-utils, UBI and UBIFS: x86 (with nandsim), arm926ejs.
