OSA supports HW TX checksumming in layer 3 mode. Enable this feature and remove software fallback used for TSO. Cleanup checksum bits to indicate OSA can do checksumming only for IPv4 TCP and UDP. 2010-03-10qeth: l3 send dhcp in non pass thru modeFrank Blaschka
dhcp frames are valid IPv4 packets so there is no need to send them in pass thru mode. This allows dhcp packets to pass HiperSockets. Also the dhcp release frame is send out correctly with this patch. 2009-11-16qeth: rework TSO functionsFrank Blaschka
The maximum TSO size OSA can handle is 15 * PAGE_SIZE. This patch reduces gso_max_size to this value and adds some sanity checks and statistics to the TSO implementation. Qeth HiperSockets support now retries sending of packets when the IBM System z signals a temporary resource shortage (e.g. target buffer full). The packet is enqueued into the device queue. OSA-devices operating in layer3 mode offer adding of the source MAC address to the QDIO header of inbound packets. The qeth driver can exploit this functionality to replace FAKELL-entries in the ethernet header of received packets.
