Pull spi updates from Mark Brown:
"As well as the usual driver updates and cleanups there's a few
improvements to the core here:
- The start of some improvements to factor out more of the SPI
message loop into the core. Right now this is just simplifying the
code a bit but hopefully next time around we'll also have managed
to roll out some noticable performance improvements which drivers
can take advantage of.
- Support for loading modules for ACPI enumerated SPI devices.
- Managed registration for SPI controllers.
- Helper for another common I/O pattern"

so there is no need to do this from the driver anymore.

Since the buffer is accessed by userspace we can not just free the buffers
memory once we are done with it in kernel space. There might still be open file
descriptors and userspace still might be accessing the buffer. This patch adds
support for reference counting to the IIO buffers. When a buffer is created and
initialized its initial reference count is set to 1. Instead of freeing the
memory of the buffer the buffer's _free() function will drop that reference
again. But only after the last reference to the buffer has been dropped the
buffer the buffer's memory will be freed. The IIO device will take a reference
to its primary buffer. The patch adds a small helper function for this called
iio_device_attach_buffer() which will get a reference to the buffer and assign
the buffer to the IIO device. This function must be used instead of assigning
the buffer to the device by hand. The reference is only dropped once the IIO
device is freed and we can be sure that there are no more open file handles. A
reference to a buffer will also be taken whenever the buffer is active to avoid
the buffer being freed while data is still being send to it.

Using spi_w8r16be() will do the conversion of the result from big endian to
native endian in the helper function. This makes the code a bit smaller and also
keeps sparse happy. Fixes the following sparse warnings:

The usage of strict_strto*() is not preferred, because
strict_strto*() is obsolete. Thus, kstrto*() should be
used.
Previously, there were only strict_strtol(), strict_strtoul(),
strict_strtoull(), and strict_strtoll(). Thus, when converting
to the variables, only long, unsigned long, unsigned long long,
and long long can be used.
However, kstrto*() provides various functions handling all types
of variables. Therefore, the types of variables can be changed
properly.

Introduce iio_tigger_{set,get}_drvdata which allows to attach driver specific
data to a trigger. The functions wrap access to the triggers private_data field
and all current users are updated to use iio_tigger_{set,get}_drvdata instead of
directly accessing the private_data field. This is the first step towards
removing the private_data field from the iio_trigger struct.

The only real change is that poll will return on some data there rather than
buffer 50% full.

In the Linux device driver model the remove callback is not allowed to fail and
the device will be removed regardless of the return value of the remove
callback. So if we abort in the remove function and do not free all resources we
will create a resource leak. Also all kinds of undefined behaviour are expected
to happen since the IIO device is still there while its parent is already gone.
The error which the driver tries to handle in the remove function is
non-critical, so we can just ignore it and continue to free all resources and
remove the IIO device.

Drop timestamp parameter from buffer store_to callback and subsequently from

The per driver iio_chan_spec arrays are usually shared between multiple device
instances. So a single device instance may not modify the iio_chan_spec array
since this would also affect the other device instances. To make this restriction
explicit mark the per driver iio_chan_spec arrays as const.

Only one of the channels of the ade7758 may be sampled at a time. Use the new
validate_scan_mask callback and the iio_validate_scan_mask_onehot function to
implement this restriction. Previously this was implemented using
available_scan_masks, but this requires a individual scan mask for each channel.

When calling ade7758_spi_read_burst we pass the device struct of embedded in the
IIO device only to look up the IIO device from the device struct again right
away. This patch changes the code to pass the IIO device directly.

Currently we use two different naming schemes in the IIO API, iio_verb_object
and iio_object_verb. E.g iio_device_register and iio_allocate_device. This
patches renames instances of the later to the former. The patch also renames allocate to
alloc as this seems to be the preferred form throughout the kernel.
In particular the following renames are performed by the patch:
iio_put_device -> iio_device_put
iio_allocate_device -> iio_device_alloc
iio_free_device -> iio_device_free
iio_get_trigger -> iio_trigger_get
iio_put_trigger -> iio_trigger_put
iio_allocate_trigger -> iio_trigger_alloc
iio_free_trigger -> iio_trigger_free
