2016-08-05treewide: move CONFIG_PHYS_64BIT to KconfigMasahiro Yamada
We need to ensure that CONFIG_PHYS_64BIT is configured via Kconfig so that it is always available to the build system. Otherwise we can run into cases where we have inconsistent sizes of certain attributes. Ravi Babu reported offset mismatch of struct dwc3 across files since commit 95ebc253e6d4 ("types.h: move and redefine resource_size_t"). Since the commit, resource_addr_t points to phys_addr_t, whose size is dependent on CONFIG_PHYS_64BIT for ARM architecture. I tried my best to use "select" where possible (for example, ARMv8 architecture) because I think this kind of option is generally user- unconfigurable. However, I see some of PowerPC boards have 36BIT defconfigs as well as 32BIT ones. I moved CONFIG_PHYS_64BIT to the defconfigs for such boards. CONFIG_36BIT is no longer referenced, so all of the defines were removed from CONFIG_SYS_EXTRA_OPTIONS. 2016-03-14Kconfig: Move CONFIG_FIT and related options to KconfigSimon Glass
There are already two FIT options in Kconfig but the CONFIG options are still in the header files. We need to do a proper move to fix this. Move these options to Kconfig and tidy up board configuration: CONFIG_FIT CONFIG_OF_BOARD_SETUP CONFIG_OF_SYSTEM_SETUP CONFIG_FIT_SIGNATURE CONFIG_FIT_BEST_MATCH CONFIG_FIT_VERBOSE CONFIG_OF_STDOUT_VIA_ALIAS CONFIG_RSA Unfortunately the first one is a little complicated. We need to make sure this option is not enabled in SPL by this change. Also this option is enabled automatically in the host builds by defining CONFIG_FIT in the image.h file. To solve this, add a new IMAGE_USE_FIT #define which can be used in files that are built on the host but must also build for U-Boot and SPL. Note: Masahiro's moveconfig.py script is amazing. 2015-11-19video: Drop unused console functionsSimon Glass
CONFIG_CONSOLE_CURSOR, CONFIG_SYS_CONSOLE_BLINK_COUNT and CONFIG_CONSOLE_TIME are not used by any board. The implementation is not great and stands in the way of a refactor of i8042. Drop these for now. They can be re-introduced quite easily later, perhaps with driver-model real-time-clock (RTC) support. 2015-04-20powerpc/mpc8641hpcn: Move environment to avoid conflictScott Wood
U-Boot on this board grew a long time ago past the 384 KiB that it reserves for the U-Boot image, before the environment. Thus, saveenv overwrites the U-Boot image and bricks the board. I tried to find out when U-Boot grew beyond this point, but there is a long stretch in the history where this board did not build -- and AFAICT when it did fit in 384 KiB, it was missing vital features such as fdt support. Turning off CONFIG_VIDEO was not enough to make it fit. Thus, I don't think we have any choice other than to move the environment. 2011-10-09powerpc/mpc86xx: Disable translation for BAT setupBecky Bruce
We really shouldn't be overwriting bat registers with translation enabled, especially when we're executing code using one of them for translating the current instruction stream. Instead, disable address translation while doing the final BAT setup. In order to do this, setup_bats has to move back to asm code, because we require translation to be enabled to have a stack for C code. The yucky thing about that is that the assembler doesn't like ULL so we have to switch to using HIGH/LOW pairs for physical addresses that are > 32 bits in length.
